    Того ча́су сказав був до мене Господь: „Ви́теши собі дві камі́нні табли́ці, як перші, та й вийди до Мене на го́ру, і зроби собі дерев'яного ковче́га.

    The Second Pair of Tablets

    “At that time the Lord said to me, [a]‘Hew for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to Me on the mountain and make yourself an ark of wood.

    А Я напишу на тих табли́цях слова́, що були на перших табли́цях, які ти побив, і покладеш їх у ковче́зі.“
  • 2
    And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke; and you shall put them in the ark.’

    І зробив я ковче́га з акаці́йного дерева, і витесав я дві камінні табли́ці, як перші, та й зійшов на го́ру, а оби́дві табли́ці в руці моїй.

    “So I made an ark of acacia wood, hewed two tablets of stone like the first, and went up the mountain, having the two tablets in my hand.

    І Він написав на тих табли́цях, як перше письмо́, Десять Заповідей, що Господь говорив був до вас на горі з сере́дини огню в день зборів. І Господь дав їх мені.

    And He wrote on the tablets according to the first writing, the Ten [b]Commandments, which the Lord had spoken to you in the mountain from the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly; and the Lord gave them to me.

    І обернувся я, та й зійшов із гори, і поклав ті табли́ці, що зробив, до ковче́гу. І були вони там, як наказав був Господь.

    Then I turned and came down from the mountain, and put the tablets in the ark which I had made; and there they are, just as the Lord commanded me.”

    А Ізраїлеві сини рушили з Беероту Яаканових синів до Мосери. Там помер Ааро́н, і був там похо́ваний, а священиком став замість нього його син Елеаза́р.

    (Now the children of Israel journeyed from the wells of Bene Jaakan to Moserah, where Aaron died, and where he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered as priest in his [c]stead.

    А звідти рушили до Ґудґоди, а з Ґудґоди до Йотвати, до кра́ю водних потоків.

    From there they journeyed to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of [d]rivers of water.

    Того ча́су Господь відділив був Левієве пле́м'я, щоб носило ковчега Господнього заповіту, щоб стояло перед Господнім лицем, щоб служило Йому, і щоб благословля́ло Його Йменням аж до цього дня.

    At that time the Lord [e]separated the tribe of Levi to bear the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to stand before the Lord to minister to Him and to bless in His name, to this day.

    Тому́ не було Левієві частки та спа́дку з братами. Господь — Він спа́дщина його, як промовляв був Господь, Бог твій, йому.

    Therefore Levi has no portion nor inheritance with his brethren; the Lord is his inheritance, just as the Lord your God promised him.)

    А я стояв на горі, як за тих перших днів, сорок день і сорок ноче́й. І вислухав Господь мене також цього ра́зу, — не захотів Господь погубити тебе.

    “As at the first time, I stayed in the mountain forty days and forty nights; the Lord also heard me at that time, and the Lord chose not to destroy you.

    І сказав був до мене Господь: „Устань, іди в по́хід перед народом. І вві́йдуть вони, і посядуть той край, що Я присягнув був їхнім батькам дати їм“

    Then the Lord said to me, ‘Arise, begin your journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.’

    А тепер, Ізра́їлю, чого жадає від тебе Господь, Бог твій? Тільки того, щоб боятися Господа, Бога твого, ходити всіма́ Його доро́гами, і любити Його, і служити Господе́ві, Богу твоєму, усім серцем своїм і всією душею своєю,

    The Essence of the Law

    “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

    виконувати заповіді Господа та постанови Його, що я наказую тобі сьогодні, щоб було тобі добре.

    and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your [f]good?
  • 14
    Тож належить Господе́ві, Богу твоєму, небо, і небо небе́с, земля й усе, що на ній.
  • 14
    Indeed heaven and the highest heavens belong to the Lord your God, also the earth with all that is in it.
  • 15
    Тільки батьків твоїх уподо́бав Господь, щоб любити їх, і вибрав вас, їхнє насіння по них, зо всіх наро́дів, як ба́чиш цього дня.

    The Lord delighted only in your fathers, to love them; and He chose their [g]descendants after them, you above all peoples, as it is this day.

    І ви обріжете кра́йню плоть свого серця, а шиї своєї не зробите більше твердо́ю,

    Therefore circumcise the foreskin of your heart, and be stiff-necked[h] no longer.
  • 17
    бо Господь, Бог ваш — Він Бог богі́в і Пан панів, Бог великий, сильний та страшни́й, що не подивиться на обличчя, і пі́дкупу не ві́зьме.

    For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe.

    Він чинить суд сироті та вдові, і любить прихо́дька, щоб дати йому хліба й одежу.
  • 18
    He administers justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the stranger, giving him food and clothing.
  • 19
    І будете ви любити прихо́дька, бо прихо́дьками були ви самі в єгипетськім кра́ї.
  • 19
    Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
  • 20
    Господа, Бога свого, будеш любити, Йому будеш служити, і до Нього будеш горну́тись, а Йменням Його будеш присягати.

    You shall fear the Lord your God; you shall serve Him, and to Him you shall hold fast, and take oaths in His name.
  • 21
    Він хвала́ твоя, і Він Бог твій, що з тобою зробив був великі та страшні́ діла́, які бачили очі твої.
  • 21
    He is your praise, and He is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome things which your eyes have seen.
  • 22
    Сімдесятьма́ душами зійшли були твої батьки до Єгипту, а тепер, щодо численности, Господь, Бог твій, зробив тебе, як зо́рі на небі!

    Your fathers went down to Egypt with seventy persons, and now the Lord your God has made you as the stars of heaven in multitude.
