    За два дні по тому, в місті Кані, що в Ґалилеї, було весілля. Ісусова мати теж була там.

    The Wedding at Cana

    On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.

    Запросили на весілля й Ісуса з учнями.

    Jesus also was invited to the wedding with his disciples.

    Коли вино було випите, мати сказала Ісусові: «Вина вже немає, бо гості все випили».
  • 3
    When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.”
  • 4
    Ісус відповів їй: «Люба жінко, навіщо кажеш Мені про це? Мій час іще не настав».

    And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.”

    Тоді Його Мати сказала слугам: «Робіть усе, що Він звелить».

    His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

    У тому місці стояло шість великих кам’яних глеків для води, що люди використовували для юдейських обрядових обмивань.[10] І кожна з них вміщувала приблизно дві чи три міри [11] рідини.

    Now there were six stone water jars there for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons.a

    Ісус наказав слугам: «Наповніть ці глеки водою». І ті виконали, що Він звелів.

    Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filled them up to the brim.
  • 8
    Тоді Ісус знову звернувся до них: «А тепер зачерпніть трохи і віднесіть весільному старості». Слуги виконали й це.

    And he said to them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast.” So they took it.

    Староста покуштував ту воду (яка перетворилася на вино) і здивувався, бо не знав звідки вино взялося. А слуги, які подали йому келих, знали про це. Тоді староста покликав нареченого й мовив до нього: «Всі люди пригощають спочатку добрим вином, а коли гості сп’яніють, тоді ставлять на стіл гірше. Ти ж приховав від гостей добре вино аж до тепер».

    When the master of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom

    and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now.”

    Це було перше чудо, що здійснив Ісус. То сталося в Кані в Ґалилеї. Так Він виявив Свою Божественну Велич, і Його учні повірили в Нього.

    This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

    Після того Ісус разом зі Своєю матір’ю, братами та учнями попрямував до Капернаума. І там вони перебували кілька днів.

    After this he went down to Capernaum, with his mother and his brothersb and his disciples, and they stayed there for a few days.

    Через те, що наближалася юдейська Пасха, Ісус вирушив до Єрусалиму.

    Jesus Cleanses the Temple

    The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

    Прийшовши до Храму, Він побачив там людей, які продавали худобу, овець та голубів. Ісус також побачив мінял, котрі сиділи за столами.

    In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there.

    Тоді, сплівши з мотузки батога, Він повиганяв усіх із Храму геть, разом з вівцями та худобою. Поперевертавши столи мінял, Він порозкидав їхні гроші.

    And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables.

    До тих, хто продавали голубів, Ісус мовив: «Заберіть усе це звідси й не перетворюйте дім Отця Мого на базар!»

    And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; do not make my Father’s house a house of trade.”

    І згадали Його учні, що написано у Святому Писанні:
    «Ревнощі до дому Твого з’їдають мене».

    His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.”
  • 18
    Деякі з юдеїв запитали Ісуса: «Яке чудо здійсниш нам у доказ того, що маєш право робити це?»

    So the Jews said to him, “What sign do you show us for doing these things?”
  • 19
    У відповідь Ісус мовив: «Зруйнуйте Храм цей, і Я відбудую його знову за три дні».

    Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
  • 20
    І сказали юдеї: «Цей Храм будували сорок шість років, а Ти збираєшся відбудувати його за три дні?»

    The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple,c and will you raise it up in three days?”

    Та говорячи про Храм, Ісус мав на увазі тіло Своє.

    But he was speaking about the temple of his body.

    Після того, як Він воскрес із мертвих, Його учні згадали, що Він казав про це, і повірили і в Святе Писання, і в слова Ісусові.

    When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.

    Коли Ісус був у Єрусалимі в дні Пасхи, багато хто повірив у Нього, бо побачили дива, здійснені Ним.

    Jesus Knows What Is in Man

    Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many believed in his name when they saw the signs that he was doing.

    Та Ісус не довіряв їм, бо знав усі їхні думки.

    But Jesus on his part did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people
  • 25
    Не потребував Він і нічиїх розповідей про людську природу, бо знав, що вони мають на серці.

    and needed no one to bear witness about man, for he himself knew what was in man.
