І сказав Господь Мойсеєві: Ще одну кару наведу на фараона та на Єгипет, і після цього відпустить вас звідси. Коли ж буде відпускати вас — то силоміць з усім виганятиме [1] вас.
The Plague on the Firstborn Foretold
And Jehovah said to Moses, Yet one plague will I bring upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let [you] go altogether, he shall utterly drive you out hence.

Тому таємно скажи на вухо людям, нехай кожний попросить у сусіда, а жінка — у сусідки, срібні та золоті речі і одяг.
Speak now in the ears of the people, that they ask every man of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, utensils of silver and utensils of gold.
І Господь дав милість Своєму народові перед єгиптянами, — і вони дали їм. А чоловік Мойсей став дуже великим перед єгиптянами, перед фараоном і перед усіма його слугами.
And Jehovah gave the people favour in the eyes of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt -- in the eyes of Pharaoh's bondmen, and in the eyes of the people.
І сказав Мойсей: Так говорить Господь! Опівночі Я перейду через Єгипет,
And Moses said, Thus saith Jehovah: About midnight I will go out into the midst of Egypt.
і помре кожний первісток у Єгипетській землі — від первістка фараона, який сидить на престолі, до первістка служниці, котра є при жорнах, і до первістка з усієї худоби!
And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sitteth on his throne, even unto the firstborn of the bondwoman that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of cattle.
І буде велике голосіння на всій Єгипетській землі — таке, якого ще не було і яке більше не повториться.
And there shall be a great cry throughout the land of Egypt, such as there hath been none like it, nor shall be like it any more.
А між усіма синами Ізраїля не дзявкне і пес своїм язиком, — від людини до тварини, — щоб ти побачив, яку дивовижну різницю зробить Господь між єгиптянами та Ізраїлем!
But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast; that ye may know that Jehovah distinguisheth between the Egyptians and Israel.
І прийдуть усі ці твої слуги до мене, і поклоняться мені, кажучи: Вийди ти, і весь твій народ, для якого ти є ватажком. І після цього я вийду! І в гніві Мойсей вийшов від фараона.
And all these thy bondmen shall come down unto me, and bow down to me, saying, Go out, thou, and all the people that follow thee; and after that I will go out. And he went out from Pharaoh in a glowing anger.
А Господь сказав Мойсеєві: Фараон не послухає вас, щоб Я зробив багато ознак й чудес у Єгипетській землі.
And Jehovah had said to Moses, Pharaoh shall not hearken to you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.
І Мойсей з Аароном учинили всі ці ознаки й чудеса в Єгипетській землі перед фараоном. Та Господь зробив непоступливим серце фараон, і той не забажав відпустити Ізраїльських синів з Єгипетської землі.
And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh; but Jehovah made Pharaoh's heart stubborn, and he did not let the children of Israel go out of his land.
