І дух мене підняв, і привів мене до брами Господнього дому, що дивилася напроти, до сходу. І ось біля входу в браму якихось двадцять п’ять мужів, і я побачив посеред них Єзонію, сина Езера, і Фалтія, сина Ванеї, провідників народу.

Evil in High Places

And the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of Jehovah's house, which looketh eastward; and behold, at the door of the gate were five and twenty men; and I saw in the midst of them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

І сказав мені Господь: Людський сину, це мужі, які задумують безумне і дають погану пораду в цьому місті,

And he said unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise iniquity, and give wicked counsel in this city:

3

кажучи: Хіба не збудовано нові доми? Це є котел, а ви — м’ясо!

who say, It is not the time to build houses: this is the cauldron, and we are the flesh.

4

Через це пророкуй проти них, пророкуй, людський сину.

Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, son of man.

5

І зійшов на мене дух, і сказав мені: Так говорить Господь: Так ви сказали, доме Ізраїля, і Я знаю задуми вашого духу!

And the Spirit of Jehovah fell on me, and said unto me, Speak, Thus saith Jehovah: Thus have ye said, O house of Israel; and the things that come into your mind, I know them.

6

Ви помножили ваших мертвих у цьому місті, і ви наповнили його дороги побитими.

6

Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain.

7

Через це так говорить Господь: Ваші мерці, яких ви поставили посеред нього, вони є м’ясом, а воно — казан! І Я вас виведу з-посеред нього.

7

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and it is the cauldron; but you will I bring forth out of the midst of it.

8

Меча боїтеся, то Я наведу на вас меч, — говорить Господь.

8

Ye have feared the sword, and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord Jehovah.

9

І виведу вас з-посеред нього, і віддам вас у руки чужинців, і вчиню серед вас суди.

9

And I will bring you out of the midst of it, and give you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.

10

Ви впадете від меча, Я судитиму вас на горах Ізраїля. І ви пізнаєте, що Я — Господь.

10

Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the borders of Israel; and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.

11

Воно не буде вам за казан, і ви не будете посеред нього, як м’ясо. Я судитиму вас на горах Ізраїля,

11

This shall not be your cauldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst of it: I will judge you in the borders of Israel;

12

і ви пізнаєте, що Я — Господь.

12

and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah, in whose statutes ye have not walked, neither have done mine ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you.

13

І сталося, що коли я пророкував, то Фалтій, син Ванеї, помер, і я впав долілиць, і закричав великим голосом, і я сказав: Горе мені, горе мені, Господи! Невже Ти чиниш кінець тим, що залишилися з Ізраїля?

A Promise of Restoration

And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. And I fell down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah, Lord Jehovah! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?

14

До мене було Господнє слово, що промовляло:

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

15

Людський сину, твої брати і чоловіки полону, ти і весь дім Ізраїля, — тим, яким сказали ті, що живуть в Єрусалимі: Відійдіть далеко від Господа, нам дана земля у спадок, — досягли кінця.

15

Son of man, [it is] thy brethren, thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel, the whole of it, unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem say, Get you far from Jehovah: unto us is this land given for a possession.

16

Через це скажи: Так говорить Господь: Відкидаю їх до народів і розсію їх по всій землі, і буду їм на мале освячення в країнах, куди тільки туди ввійдуть.

Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Although I have removed them far off among the nations, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries whither they are come.

17

Через це скажи: Так говорить Господь: І прийму їх з народів, і зберу їх з країн, куди Я їх у них розсіяв, і Я дам їм землю Ізраїля.

17

Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will even gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where ye are scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.

18

І ввійдуть туди, і викинуть усі її гидоти та всі її беззаконня з неї.

18

And they shall come thither, and they shall take away from thence all its detestable things and all its abominations.

19

І Я дам їм інше серце, і дам їм новий дух, і заберу кам’яне серце з їхнього тіла, і дам їм тілесне серце,

19

And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh;

20

щоби ходили за Моїми приписами і берегли Мої заповіді та виконували їх. І будуть Мені за народ, і Я їм буду за Бога.

20

that they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

21

А щодо серця їхніх гидот та їхніх беззаконь, так, як ходить їхнє серце, то Я дав їхні дороги на їхні голови, — говорить Господь.

21

But as for them whose heart walketh well-pleased with their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their heads, saith the Lord Jehovah.

22

І херувими підняли свої крила і колеса, що поблизу них, і слава Бога Ізраїля, яка на них, — над ними.

God's Glory Leaves Jerusalem

And the cherubim lifted up their wings, and the wheels were beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.

23

І Господня слава піднялася з-посеред міста, і стала на горі, що була напроти міста.

23

And the glory of Jehovah went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.

24

А дух мене підняв і повів мене в землю халдеїв до полонених у видінні Божим духом. І я вийшов з видіння, яке я побачив,

24

And the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity; and the vision that I had seen went up from me.

25

і я сказав полоненим усі Господні слова, які Він мені показав.

25

And I spoke unto them of the captivity all the things that Jehovah had shewn me.
