Послухайте Господнє слово, сини Ізраїля, тому що в Господа суд проти тих, що живуть на землі, тому що немає правди, ані милосердя, ані пізнання Бога на землі.
God's Charges against Israel
Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

Клятва, брехня, убивство, крадіж і перелюб поширилися на землі й змішують кров до крові.
By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
Через це земля плакатиме з усіма, що на ній живуть, — зі звірами поля, з плазунами землі, з птахами неба, і риби моря зникнуть,
Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
щоб ніхто не був суджений та не був звинувачений. А Мій народ — як звинувачений священик.
Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.
Знемагатимеш вдень, і знемагатиме пророк з тобою. До ночі Я уподібнив твою матір.
Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.
Мій народ уподібнено до того, котрий не має пізнання. Тому що ти відкинув пізнання, і Я тебе відкину, щоб ти Мені не служив. Ти забув закон твого Бога, і Я забуду твоїх дітей.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Відповідно до їхньої безлічі, у такій же мірі вони і грішили проти Мене. Їхню славу Я оберну в безчестя.
As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.
Їстимуть гріхи Мого народу і в їхніх неправедностях будуть забрані їхні душі.
They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.
І як народ, так само буде і священик, і на ньому Я помщуся за його дороги, і йому віддам за його задумами.
And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings.
Їстимуть і не наситяться, вони чинили розпусту і не ходитимуть прямо, тому що залишили Господа, аби триматися розпусти.
For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD.
Вино і сп’яніння прийняло серце Мого народу.
Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.
На радах допитували, і його палицями йому сповіщали. Вони були зведені духом розпусти і чинили розпусту стосовно свого Бога.
My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.
Вони приносили жертви на верхів’ї гір і приносили ладан на горбах, під дубом і тополею, і тінистим деревом, бо добра тінь. Через це стануть розпусницями їхні дочки, і ваші невістки чинитимуть перелюб.
They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery.
Я не навідаюся до ваших дочок, коли вони чинять розпусту, і до ваших невісток, коли чинять перелюб, тому що і вони змішалися з розпусниками і приносили жертви з посвяченими в таїнства, і розумний народ сплутався з розпусницею.
I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.
Ти ж, Ізраїлю, не будь невігласом, і Юдо, не входьте до Ґалґала, не йдіть до дому Она і не кляніться живим Господом.
Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Bethaven, nor swear, The LORD liveth.
Бо як скажена телиця, безумним став Ізраїль. Тепер Господь пастиме їх як ягня на широкому місці.
For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer: now the LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large place.
надав перевагу ханаанцям. Вони зовсім віддалися розпусті [1] , полюбили безчестя в його зарозумілості.
Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye.
