Сповна помстися мадіямцям за ізраїльських синів, а відтак приєднаєшся до свого народу.
Avenge the children of Israel upon the Midianites; afterwards shalt thou be gathered unto thy peoples.
Тож Мойсей звернувся до народу, кажучи: Добре озбройте з-поміж себе чоловіків, щоб стали до Господнього бою проти мадіямців, аби звершити помсту від Господа мадіямцям!
And Moses spoke to the people, saying, Arm from amongst you men for military service, that they go against Midian to execute Jehovah's vengeance upon Midian.
Тисячу з племені, тисячу з племені, — і так пошліть з усіх ізраїльських племен, щоб стали до бою.
Of every tribe a thousand, of all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.
Тож вони відрахували з ізраїльських тисяч по тисячі з племені — дванадцять тисяч озброєних до бою.
And there were levied out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand by tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.

And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand by the tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, and the holy instruments, even the alarm-trumpets in his hand.

And they warred against Midian, as Jehovah had commanded Moses, and slew all the males.

And they slew the kings of Midian, besides the others slain, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian; and Balaam the son of Beor they slew with the sword.
Мадіямських жінок, їхнє майно, їхню худобу і все ними придбане вони захопили в полон, а їхнє військо — спустошили.
And the children of Israel took the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took for a spoil all their cattle and all their flocks and all their goods;
Усі їхні міста, що в їхніх поселеннях, і їхні села вони спалили вогнем.
and all their cities in their settlements and all their encampments they burned with fire.
І захопили всіх полонених і всю їхню здобич — від людини до худоби.
And they took all the booty, and all the prey, of man and of cattle;
Полонених, здобич і здобуток вони привели до Мойсея, до священика Елеазара і до всіх ізраїльських синів, до табору в Аравоті моавському, що біля Йордану, поряд з Єрихоном.
and they brought to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the assembly of the children of Israel, the captives and the prey and the booty, to the camp in the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan of Jericho.
Мойсей, священик Елеазар і всі старійшини громади вийшли їм назустріч за табір.
And Moses and Eleazar the priest and all the princes of the assembly went forth to meet them outside the camp.
І розгнівався Мойсей на провідників війська, на тисяцьких і сотників, які поверталися з бою.
And Moses was wroth with the officers of the army, with the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war;
Мойсей їм сказав: Чому ви залишили живими жінок?
and Moses said to them, Have ye saved all the women alive?
Адже вони, за словом Валаама, були для ізраїльських синів на відступлення і зневаження Господнього слова через Фоґора, коли була пошесть у Господній громаді!
Lo, these, through the counsel of Balaam, caused the children of Israel to commit sin against Jehovah in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague on the assembly of Jehovah.
Тож тепер убийте кожного чоловічої статі з-поміж усіх захоплених і вбийте кожну жінку, яка пізнала чоловіка в постелі.
And now slay every male among the little ones, and slay every woman that hath known man by lying with him,
Усіх же захоплених жінок, які не пізнали чоловіка в постелі, залишіть живими.
but all the children among the women that have not known lying with a man, keep alive for yourselves.
Ви ж отаборіться за табором на сім днів. Кожен, хто вбив і доторкнувся до вбитого, нехай очиститься третього дня і сьомого дня, — ви і ваші полонені.
And encamp outside the camp seven days; whoever hath killed a person, and whoever hath touched any slain; ye shall purify yourselves on the third day, and on the seventh day, you and your captives.
А кожну одежину, і кожну шкіряну ємність та все, зроблене з козячої шкури, і всякий дерев’яний посуд — очистіть!
And every garment, and every vessel of skin, and all work of goat's hair, and every utensil of wood shall ye purify.
І священик Елеазар сказав воїнам, що приходили з бою: Це вимога закону, який дав Господь Мойсеєві!
And Eleazar the priest said to the men of war that had gone to the battle, This is the statute of the law which Jehovah hath commanded Moses.
Крім срібла, золота, міді, заліза, свинцю і олова,
Only the gold, and the silver, the copper, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
усяка річ, яка пройде через вогонь та очиститься, також нехай очиститься водою для очищення. А все, що не перейде через вогонь, пройде через воду.
everything that passeth through the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean; only it shall be purified with the water of separation; and everything that cannot pass through the fire ye shall make go through the water.
А сьомого дня виперете одяг, очиститеся і після цього ввійдете до табору.
And ye shall wash your garments on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean; and afterwards ye may come into the camp.
І промовив Господь до Мойсея, кажучи:
Division of the Spoils
And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
Підрахуйте загальну кількість захопленого в полон — від людини до худоби, — ти, священик Елеазар і голови родів громади по батьківській лінії, —
Take the sum of the prey that was taken, of man and of cattle, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the assembly;
і розділіть здобич між воїнами, які були в бою, і між усією громадою.
and divide the prey into halves, between them that conducted the war, who went out to the battle, and the whole assembly.
Від людей, які воювали, які виступили, щоб стати до бою, виділіть збір для Господа — одну душу від п’ятисот, з людей і з тварин — з великої рогатої худоби, овець і ослів.
And thou shalt levy a tribute for Jehovah of the men of war who went out to the army, one soul of five hundred of the persons, and of the oxen, and of the asses, and of the small cattle.
З їхньої половини візьмеш і даси священикові Елеазарові — особливий дар для Господа.
Of their half shall ye take it, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for a heave-offering of Jehovah.
А з половинної частки ізраїльських синів візьмеш одне з п’ятдесяти — з людей і з худоби — з овець, ослів і всіх тварин, і даси їх левітам, які здійснюють нагляд у Господньому наметі.
And of the children of Israel's half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the oxen, of the asses, and of the small cattle, of every [kind of] beasts, and thou shalt give them unto the Levites, who keep the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah.
І зробив Мойсей та священик Елеазар так, як заповів Господь Мойсеєві.
And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
І було безліч захопленого, яке взяли як здобич чоловіки, які воювали: овець — шістсот сімдесят п’ять тисяч;
And the prey, the rest of the spoil, which the men of war had taken, was six hundred and seventy-five thousand sheep,
людських душ з жінок, які не пізнали чоловіка в постелі, усіх душ тридцять дві тисячі.
and of human persons, of the women that had not known lying with a man, all the persons were thirty-two thousand.
Половина була часткою тих, які виступали до бою: із числа овець — триста тридцять сім тисяч п’ятсот.
And the half, the portion of them that had gone out to the war, was in number three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,
Шістсот сімдесят п’ять — збір для Господа з овець;
and the tribute for Jehovah of the sheep was six hundred and seventy-five;
з волів — тридцять шість тисяч, сімдесят два — збір для Господа;
and the oxen were thirty-six thousand, and the tribute thereof for Jehovah, seventy-two;
ослів — тридцять тисяч п’ятсот, шістдесят один — збір для Господа.
and the asses were thirty thousand five hundred, and the tribute thereof for Jehovah, sixty-one;
А число людських душ — шістнадцять тисяч, тридцять дві душі — збір для Господа.
and the human persons were sixteen thousand, of whom the tribute for Jehovah was thirty-two persons.
Господній збір, те, що відділене для Бога, Мойсей дав священикові Елеазарові, — як і заповів Господь Мойсеєві, —
And Moses gave the tribute of Jehovah's heave-offering to Eleazar the priest, as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
з половинної частки для ізраїльських синів, яких відділив Мойсей від чоловіків, котрі воювали.
And of the children of Israel's half, which Moses had divided, [taking it] from the men that served in the war,
А половинна частка для громади складала: овець — триста тридцять сім тисяч п’ятсот,
(now the half belonging to the assembly was of the sheep, three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred,
З половинної частки для ізраїльських синів Мойсей узяв одне з п’ятдесяти — з людей і з тварин — і дав левітам, які здійснюють нагляд за Господнім наметом, як і заповів Господь Мойсеєві.
... of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one portion of fifty, of man and of cattle, and gave them to the Levites who kept the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah; as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
І прийшли до Мойсея всі поставлені над тисячами у війську — тисяцькі й сотники.
The Voluntary Offering
And the officers who were over the thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near to Moses,

Вони сказали Мойсеєві: Твої слуги порахували воїнів, які з нами, і жодного з них не забракло.
and they said to Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war who were under our hand, and there is not one man of us lacking.
Тож ми принесли дар для Господа: кожний, хто знайшов золотий виріб: браслет, ланцюжок, кільце, браслет для правої руки, защіпку для волосся — звершити викуплення за нас перед Господом.
So we present the offering of Jehovah, that which each one hath found, jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for our souls before Jehovah.
І Мойсей та священик Елеазар взяли в них золото, усякий виготовлений виріб.
And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, all manner of wrought jewels.
І всього золота особливого дару, яке від тисяцьких і від сотників виділили для Господа, було шістнадцять тисяч сімсот п’ятдесят сиклів.
And all the gold of the heave-offering that they offered to Jehovah was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels, from the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds.
(Адже чоловіки-воїни брали здобич — кожен собі особисто).
(The men of war had taken spoil each one for himself.)
А Мойсей і священик Елеазар взяли золото від тисяцьких і від сотників, і внесли його в намет свідчення — на пам’ять для ізраїльських синів перед Господом.
And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tent of meeting, as a memorial for the children of Israel before Jehovah.
