І буде, — коли всі ці слова, благословення і прокляття, які я представив перед твоїм обличчям, здійсняться на тобі, і ти, перебуваючи серед усіх народів, де Господь тебе розсіє, візьмеш їх до свого серця,

Restoration Promised

And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee,

повернешся до Господа, свого Бога, і з усього свого серця та з усієї своєї душі слухатимешся Його голосу, згідно з усім тим, що я тобі сьогодні заповідаю,

And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;

3

то Господь простить твої гріхи, змилосердиться над тобою і знову позбирає тебе з-посеред усіх народів, серед яких Господь тебе розсіяв.

That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.

4

Навіть якщо твоє розсіяння було б від одного краю неба до другого краю неба, то Господь, твій Бог, позбирає тебе і звідти, — Він забере тебе навіть звідти.

If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:

5

Господь, твій Бог, введе тебе в землю, яку отримали у володіння твої батьки, і ти заволодієш нею; Він учинить тобі добро і вчинить тебе численним ще більше, ніж твоїх батьків.

And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.

Господь очистить твоє серце і серце твоїх нащадків, щоб ти любив Господа, свого Бога, з усього свого серця і з усієї своєї душі, щоб ти жив.

And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

7

Господь, твій Бог, накладе ці прокляття на твоїх ворогів і на тих, хто тебе ненавидить, хто тебе переслідував.

And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.

8

Тоді ти повернешся, слухатимешся голосу Господа свого Бога і виконуватимеш Його заповіді, які я тобі сьогодні заповідаю.

And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

9

Господь, твій Бог, піклуватиметься тобою в кожному ділі твоїх рук, у нащадках твого лона, у плодах твоєї землі та в приплоді твоєї худоби, тому що Господь, твій Бог, буде знову втішатися за тебе, чинячи тобі добро, як Він втішався за твоїх батьків,

And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:

10

якщо ти слухатимешся голосу Господа, свого Бога, щоб дотримуватися Його заповідей, Його постанов та Його присудів, записаних в книзі цього закону, і якщо повернешся до Господа, свого Бога, з усього свого серця і з усієї своєї душі.

If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.

Адже ця заповідь, яку я тобі сьогодні заповідаю, не є непомірна, ані не є далеко від тебе.

The Choice of Life or Death

For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

12

Не є вона на небі, щоб сказати: Хто нам підніметься на небо й дістане її нам, — і, почувши її, ми будемо її виконувати?

It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

13

Ані не є вона за морем, щоб сказати: Хто нам перейде на той бік моря, дістане її нам та дасть її нам почути, — і ми будемо її виконувати?

13

Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

14

Це слово є дуже близько до тебе: воно у твоїх устах, у твоєму серці й у твоїх руках, щоб виконувати його.

But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

15

Ось я представив сьогодні перед твоїм обличчям життя і смерть, добро і зло.

See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

16

Якщо ти слухатимешся заповідей Господа, твого Бога, які я тобі сьогодні заповідаю, — любити Господа, свого Бога, ходити Його дорогами і дотримуватися Його постанов, Його заповідей та Його присудів — то ви житимете й будете численними, і Господь, твій Бог, поблагословить тебе на всій землі, в яку ти входиш, щоб заволодіти нею.

In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

17

А якщо твоє серце відступить, і ти не слухатимешся, і, заблукавши, поклонятимешся іншим богам та служитимеш їм,

17

But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

18

то сповіщаю тобі сьогодні, що ви неодмінно загинете [1] і не будете довголітніми на землі, до якої ви переправляєтесь через Йордан, щоб заволодіти нею.

I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.

19

Кличу вам сьогодні за свідків небо і землю: я представив перед вашим обличчям життя і смерть, благословення і прокляття. Тож обери життя, щоб жив ти і твої нащадки,

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

20

щоб ти любив Господа, свого Бога, слухався Його голосу й тримався Його, адже це — твоє життя і довгота твоїх днів, та щоб ти жив на землі, яку Господь поклявся дати твоїм батькам, Авраамові, Ісаакові та Якову.

20

That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
