Romans 10

Брати, бажання мого серця і молитва до Бога — [за Ізраїль] на спасіння.

Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.

Свідчу їм, що вони мають Божу ревність, але не розумну.

For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.

Оскільки не розуміючи Божої праведності й силкуючись встановити власну праведність, вони не підкорилися Божій праведності.

Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

Завершення Закону — Христос: для оправдання кожного, хто вірує.

Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

Мойсей пише про ту праведність, що від Закону: Людина, яка виконуватиме його, буде ним жити.

Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.”a

А про праведність, що з віри, говорить так: Не кажи у своєму серці: Хто ж підніметься на небо? — це значить — звести Христа додолу;

But the righteousness that is by faith says: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ”b (that is, to bring Christ down)

або: Хто ж зійде в безодню? — це значить — Христа з мертвих підняти.

“or ‘Who will descend into the deep?’ ”c (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).

А що каже [Писання]? Близько до тебе слово, воно у твоїх устах і у твоєму серці, — тобто слово віри, яке проповідуємо.

But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,”d that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim:

Якщо визнаєш своїми устами Господа Ісуса й повіриш у своєму серці, що Бог підняв Його з мертвих, то спасешся.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Бо серцем віримо для праведності, а устами визнаємо для спасіння.

For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Писання каже: Кожний, хто вірить у Нього, не буде засоромлений!

As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”e

Немає різниці між юдеєм і греком, бо один Бог для всіх — щедрий для всіх, хто кличе Його.

For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile — the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,

Бо кожний, хто тільки прикличе Господнє Ім’я, буде спасенний.

for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”f

Але як прикликатимуть Того, у Кого не повірили? І як повірять у Того, про Кого не чули? І як почують без проповідника?

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

А як можуть проповідувати, якщо не будуть послані? Так, як написано: Які гарні ноги в благовісників [миру, у благовісників] добра!

And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”g

Але не всі послухалися Євангелія! Ісая каже: Господи, хто ж повірив тому, що почув від нас?

But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?”h

Тому віра — від слухання, а слухання — через Слово Христа.

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

Але я кажу: Хіба вони не чули? Адже по всій землі понеслася їхня вістка, і їхні слова — до кінців світу!

But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did:
“Their voice has gone out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.”i

І ще кажу: Хіба Ізраїль не знав? Першим говорить Мойсей: Я пробуджу у вас ревнощі «не народом», — народом нерозумним викличу у вас обурення!

Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says,
“I will make you envious by those who are not a nation;
I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding.”j

Ісая сміливо каже: Знайшли Мене ті, які Мене не шукали; відкрився Я тим, які про Мене не розпитували.

And Isaiah boldly says,
“I was found by those who did not seek me;
I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me.”k

А до Ізраїля говорить: Весь день простягав Я Свої руки до народу непокірного, який Мені суперечить.

But concerning Israel he says,
“All day long I have held out my hands
to a disobedient and obstinate people.”l
