“Elam is there, and all her multitude around her grave; all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who went down uncircumcised into the world below, who spread their terror in the land of the living; and they bear their shame with those who go down to the pit.

There is Elam and all her multitude round about her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which are gone down uncircumcised into the nether parts of the earth, which caused their terror in the land of the living; yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit.

Auch der König von Elam liegt im Reich der Toten, und sein stolzes Heer ruht rings um sein Grab. Im Krieg sind sie getötet worden und dann in die Totenwelt gekommen. Da liegen sie nun, diese unbeschnittenen Heiden! Früher haben sie andere Völker eingeschüchtert, doch nun ruhen sie dort unten, ihr König in der Mitte und sie rund um sein Grab. Nun tragen auch sie die Schande, im Krieg gefallen zu sein.

Dort liegt Elam und all sein Gefolge rings um sein Grab. Sie alle hat man erschlagen, sie fielen unter dem Schwert, in das Land der Tiefe sind sie hinabgestiegen, Unbeschnittene, sie, die einst im Land der Lebenden ihren Schrecken verbreitet haben. Sie aber haben ihre Schande zu tragen mit denen, die in die Grube hinabgestiegen sind.
