sondern er folgte den Wegen der Könige von Israel. Er ließ sogar seinen Sohn durch das Feuer gehen und ahmte so die Gräuel der Völker nach, die der HERR vor den Israeliten vertrieben hatte.

denn er wandelte auf dem Wege der Könige Israels. Dazu ließ er seinen Sohn durchs Feuer gehen nach den Greueln der Heiden, die der HERR vor den Kindern Israel vertrieben hatte,

sondern er lebte wie die Könige von Israel. Er ging sogar so weit, dass er seinen Sohn als Opfer verbrannte. Diesen abscheulichen Brauch übernahm er von den Völkern, die der HERR aus dem Land vertrieben hatte, um es seinem Volk Israel zu geben.
