Dieser Esra kam also von Babel herauf. Er war ein Schriftgelehrter, kundig in der Weisung des Mose, die der HERR, der Gott Israels, gegeben hatte. Weil die Hand des HERRN, seines Gottes, über ihm war, gewährte der König ihm alles, was er wünschte.

Esra aber war ein geschickter Schriftgelehrter im Gesetz Mose’s, das der HERR, der Gott Israels, gegeben hatte. Und der König gab ihm alles, was er forderte, nach der Hand des HERRN, seines Gottes, über ihm.

Esra war ein Schriftgelehrter, der das Gesetz gut kannte, das der HERR seinem Volk Israel durch Mose anvertraut hatte. Und weil Gott seine schützende Hand über Esra hielt, erfüllte der König alle seine Bitten.
