Wahrhaftig, ihr seid besondere Leute und mit euch stirbt die Weisheit aus.
No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.

Oder rede zur Erde, sie wird dich lehren, die Fische des Meeres erzählen es dir.
Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
Wer von ihnen allen wüsste nicht, dass die Hand des HERRN dies gemacht hat?
Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?
In seiner Hand ruht die Seele allen Lebens und jeden Menschenleibes Geist.
In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
Darf nicht das Ohr die Worte prüfen, wie mit dem Gaumen man die Speisen schmeckt?
Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?
Findet sich bei Greisen wirklich Weisheit und ist langes Leben schon Einsicht?
With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.
Bei ihm allein sind Weisheit und Heldenkraft, bei ihm sind Rat und Einsicht.
With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.
Wenn er einreißt, baut keiner wieder auf; wen er einschließt, dem wird nicht mehr geöffnet.
Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.
Wenn er die Wasser dämmt, versiegen sie, lässt er sie frei, zerwühlen sie das Land.
Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.
Bei ihm ist Macht und Klugheit, sein ist, wer irrt und wer irreführt.
With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his.
Er lässt Ratsherren barfuß gehen, Richter macht er zu Toren.
He leadeth counsellers away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.
Fesseln von Königen löst er auf und bindet einen Schurz um ihre Hüften.
He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.
Er lässt Priester barfuß gehen, alte Geschlechter bringt er zu Fall.
He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty.
Das Wort entzieht er den Bewährten, den Ältesten nimmt er die Urteilskraft.
He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged.
Verachtung gießt er auf die Edlen, den Starken lockert er den Gurt.
He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.
Verborgenes enthüllt er aus der Finsternis, Todesschatten führt er ans Licht.
He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.
Völker lässt er wachsen und vernichtet sie; er breitet Völker aus und treibt sie fort.
He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again.
Den Häuptern des Landes nimmt er den Verstand, lässt sie irren in wegloser Wüste.
He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.
