Wenn du die Zählung der Israeliten für ihre Erhebung durchführst, soll jeder von ihnen ein Sühnegeld für seine Person anlässlich der Erhebung für den HERRN geben, damit sie kein Unheil wegen der Erhebung trifft.

Wenn du die Häupter der Kinder Israel zählst, so soll ein jeglicher dem HERRN geben die Versöhnung seiner Seele, auf daß ihnen nicht eine Plage widerfahre, wenn sie gezählt werden.

»Wenn du die wehrfähigen Männer in Israel zählst, sollen alle Gemusterten mir, dem HERRN, ein Lösegeld für ihr Leben geben, damit ich kein Unheil über sie hereinbrechen lasse.
