Hört, ihr Völker alle, merke auf, Erde, und alles, was sie erfüllt: GOTT, der Herr, tritt als Zeuge gegen euch auf, der Herr von seinem heiligen Palast aus.
Hear, all ye people; hearken, O earth, and all that therein is: and let the Lord GOD be witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple.
Denn siehe: Der HERR geht heraus aus seinem Ort und steigt herab und schreitet dahin über die Höhen der Erde.
For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.
Und es zerschmelzen die Berge unter ihm und die Täler spalten sich — wie Wachs vor dem Feuer; wie Wasser, das einen Abhang herabgegossen wird.
And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place.
Das alles geschieht wegen Jakobs Vergehen und wegen der Sünden des Hauses Israel. Was ist Jakobs Vergehen? Ist es nicht Samaria? Und was ist die Sünde des Hauses Juda? Ist es nicht Jerusalem?
For the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem?
Darum mache ich Samaria zu einem Trümmerhaufen auf dem Feld, zu einem Acker, auf dem man Reben pflanzt. Ich stürze seine Steine zu Tal und lege seine Grundmauern bloß.
Therefore I will make Samaria as an heap of the field, and as plantings of a vineyard: and I will pour down the stones thereof into the valley, and I will discover the foundations thereof.
Alle seine geschnitzten Bilder werden zerschlagen, alle seine Weihegaben im Feuer verbrannt, alle seine Götzenbilder ver- wüste ich. Denn mit Hurenlohn hat Samaria sie angesammelt und zu Hurenlohn werden sie wieder.
And all the graven images thereof shall be beaten to pieces, and all the hires thereof shall be burned with the fire, and all the idols thereof will I lay desolate: for she gathered it of the hire of an harlot, and they shall return to the hire of an harlot.
Darüber muss ich klagen und jammern, barfuß und nackt gehe ich umher; ich erhebe Klage wie die Schakale, Trauerklage wie die Strauße.

Denn unheilbar ist seine Wunde; denn sie reicht bis nach Juda, bis zum Tor meines Volkes, bis hin nach Jerusalem.

Zieht hinaus, ihr Bewohner von Schafir, in schändlicher Entblößung! Nicht ziehen hinaus die Bewohner von Zaanan. Es klagt Bet-Haezel. Man nimmt euch jede Stütze weg.

Ja, um ihr Wohl bangen die Bewohner von Marot; denn vom HERRN kam Unheil herab auf Jerusalems Tore.

Spannt die Pferde vor die Wagen, ihr Bewohner von Lachisch! Das war der Anfang der Sünde für die Tochter Zion; denn in euch finden sich die Vergehen Israels.

Darum werdet ihr Abschiedsgaben an Moreschet-Gat geben. Die Häuser von Achsib werden zum Trugbach für Israels Könige.
Therefore shalt thou give presents to Moreshethgath: the houses of Achzib shall be a lie to the kings of Israel.
Wieder wird der Eroberer über euch herfallen, ihr Bewohner von Marescha; bis nach Adullam bringt man die Herrlichkeit Israels.
Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah: he shall come unto Adullam the glory of Israel.
