Weil er genau wissen wollte, was die Juden ihm vorwarfen, ließ er ihn am nächsten Tag aus dem Gefängnis holen und befahl, die Hohepriester und der ganze Hohe Rat sollten sich versammeln. Und er ließ Paulus hinunterführen und ihnen gegenüberstellen.

Des andern Tages wollte er gewiß erkunden, warum er verklagt würde von den Juden, und löste ihn von den Banden und hieß die Hohenpriester und ihren ganzen Rat kommen und führte Paulus hervor und stellte ihn unter sie.

Der Kommandant wollte endlich genau wissen, was die Juden Paulus eigentlich vorwarfen. Deswegen befahl er am nächsten Tag den obersten Priestern und dem Hohen Rat, sich zu einer Sitzung zu versammeln, und nachdem man Paulus aus dem Gefängnis geholt und ihm die Fesseln abgenommen hatte, wurde auch er dorthin gebracht.

On the morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them.

The commander wanted to find out exactly why Paul was being accused by the Jews. So the next day he released him and ordered the chief priests and all the members of the Sanhedrin to assemble. Then he brought Paul and had him stand before them. -
