So brachten Josua und die Israeliten ihnen endgültig eine sehr schwere Niederlage bei, die sie völlig aufrieb. Es entkamen aber einige Überlebende, die in die befestigten Städte gelangten.

Und da Josua und die Kinder Israel vollendet hatten diese sehr große Schlacht an ihnen und sie ganz geschlagen, und was übrigblieb von ihnen, in die festen Städte gekommen war,

Die Israeliten brachten den Amoritern an jenem Tag eine vernichtende Niederlage bei. Ihre Heere waren vollständig besiegt. Nur wenige Überlebende konnten sich in die befestigten Städte retten.
