Wenn jemand in eine von diesen Städten flieht, soll er am Eingang des Stadttors stehen bleiben und den Ältesten der Stadt seine Sache vortragen. Sie sollen ihn zu sich in die Stadt aufnehmen und ihm eine Unterkunft geben, damit er bei ihnen bleiben kann.

Und der da flieht zu der Städte einer, soll stehen draußen vor der Stadt Tor und vor den Ältesten der Stadt seine Sache ansagen; so sollen sie ihn zu sich in die Stadt nehmen und ihm Raum geben, daß er bei ihnen wohne.

Wer dorthin flieht, muss sich gleich am Stadttor den führenden Männern des Ortes stellen und seinen Fall schildern. Dann soll er in die Stadt aufgenommen werden und eine Unterkunft erhalten.

And when he that doth flee unto one of those cities shall stand at the entering of the gate of the city, and shall declare his cause in the ears of the elders of that city, they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them.
