Der König schickte folgende Antwort zurück: »An den Statthalter Rehum, den Schreiber Schimschai und die königlichen Beauftragten in Samarien und im übrigen Gebiet westlich des Euphrat: Ich grüße euch!

Da sandte der König eine Antwort an Rehum, den Kanzler, und Simsai, den Schreiber, und die andern ihres Rats, die in Samaria wohnten und in den andern Orten jenseit des Wassers: Friede und Gruß!

Der König schickte folgende Erwiderung: An den Befehlshaber Rehum und den Schreiber Schimschai sowie ihre übrigen Genossen, die in Samaria und dem übrigen Gebiet jenseits des Stroms wohnen, meinen Gruß.
