Jeremia empfing diese Botschaft vom HERRN:
Restoration of Israel and Judah
The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
»So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Schreib alles, was ich dir gesagt habe, in einem Buch nieder!
Thus speaketh the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.
Denn es kommt die Zeit, in der ich das Schicksal meines Volkes wieder zum Guten wende. Ich bringe die Israeliten und Judäer zurück in das Land, das ich einst ihren Vorfahren gegeben habe, und sie können es wieder in Besitz nehmen. Mein Wort gilt!«
For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.
So lautet die Botschaft des HERRN für Israel und Juda:
And these are the words that the LORD spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah.
»Man hört Angstgeschrei, Entsetzen macht sich breit, von Frieden keine Spur.
For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.
Überlegt doch mal und schaut euch um: Können Männer etwa Kinder gebären? Warum sieht man dann, wie sie sich alle krümmen vor Schmerz, als hätten sie Wehen? Warum sind sie alle totenbleich?
Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?
Ach, es wird ein Tag kommen — so furchtbar wie kein zweiter! Die Nachkommen von Jakob geraten in große Not, aber ich werde sie retten.
Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
An jenem Tag werde ich das Joch, das auf ihnen lastet, zerbrechen und ihre Fesseln zerreißen. Das verspreche ich, der HERR, der allmächtige Gott. Keine fremden Völker werden mein Volk mehr unterwerfen.
For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:
Nein, mir wird es dienen, dem HERRN, seinem Gott, und einem Nachkommen von David, den ich als König über sie einsetze.
But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.
Fürchtet euch nicht, ihr Nachkommen von Jakob, meine Diener! Hab keine Angst, Volk Israel! Denn ich, der HERR, verspreche euch: Aus einem fernen Land werde ich euch zurückholen. Ja, ich befreie eure Nachkommen aus dem Land, in dem sie Gefangene sind. Dann werdet ihr in Frieden und Sicherheit leben, niemand bedroht euch mehr.
Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.
Denn ich, der HERR, bin bei euch, um euch zu helfen. Die Völker, in deren Länder ich euch vertrieb, lasse ich vom Erdboden verschwinden, doch euch lösche ich nicht aus. Zwar werde ich auch euch bestrafen, wie ihr es verdient habt, aber ich gehe nicht zu hart mit euch ins Gericht. Darauf könnt ihr euch verlassen!
For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.
Israel, du bist böse zugerichtet worden, deine Wunden sind unheilbar.
For thus saith the LORD, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous.
Keiner tritt für dich ein, niemand verbindet deine Wunden, es gibt keine Hoffnung auf Heilung mehr für dich!
There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.
Alle deine Freunde haben dich vergessen, sie lassen dich im Stich. Du hast große Schuld auf dich geladen und unzählige Sünden begangen. Darum habe ich dich geschlagen — unbarmherzig und grausam wie ein Feind.
All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased.
Warum klagst du jetzt über deine Wunden, warum schreist du in deinem Schmerz, den niemand lindern kann? Weil deine Schuld so groß ist und du viele Sünden begangen hast, darum habe ich dich so zugerichtet!
Why criest thou for thine affliction? thy sorrow is incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity: because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.
Doch alle Völker, die dich ausrotten wollen, sollen auch ausgerottet werden. Deine Feinde werden wie du in die Gefangenschaft ziehen. Sie haben dich beraubt — nun fallen sie selbst anderen zur Beute; dich haben sie ausgeplündert, nun gebe ich auch sie der Plünderung preis.
Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.
Aber zu dir sage ich, der HERR: Ich will dich wieder gesund machen und deine Wunden heilen, auch wenn deine Feinde meinen, du seist von mir verstoßen worden. ›Zion, um die sich niemand kümmert‹, nennen sie dich.
For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.
Doch ich verspreche dir: Ich wende das Schicksal meines Volkes wieder zum Guten. Ich erbarme mich über die Nachkommen von Jakob und sorge dafür, dass ihre Häuser neu errichtet werden. Aus den Ruinen wird Jerusalem wieder aufgebaut, und der Königspalast wird an seiner alten Stelle stehen.
Restoration of Jacob
Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.

Dann hört man dort wieder Danklieder und frohes Lachen. Ich lasse mein Volk immer größer statt kleiner werden und verleihe ihnen so viel Ansehen, dass niemand sie mehr verachtet.
And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.
Es wird wieder so sein wie früher, das ganze Volk wird von mir geschützt. Doch alle, die sie unterdrücken, bekommen meine Strafe zu spüren!
Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.
Ein König aus dem eigenen Volk wird sie regieren; einer aus ihrer Mitte wird ihr Herrscher sein. Er darf vor mich treten, weil ich es ihm gewähre. Denn wer sonst könnte es wagen, sich mir zu nähern, mir, dem HERRN? Er würde sein Leben aufs Spiel setzen.
And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the LORD.
Ihr Israeliten sollt wieder mein Volk sein, und ich will euer Gott sein!«
And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
Seht, der Zorn des HERRN bricht los wie ein gewaltiger Sturm, wie ein Wirbelsturm fegt er über die Gottlosen hinweg.
Behold, the whirlwind of the LORD goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked.
Er wird sich erst legen, wenn alles ausgeführt ist, was der HERR sich vorgenommen hat. Die Zeit kommt, in der ihr das klar erkennen werdet!
The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it.
