Doch du hast gesehen, dass die Füße und Zehen der Statue teils aus Eisen, teils aus Ton waren. Dies bedeutet: Das Reich ist zum Teil stark wie Eisen, zum Teil brüchig wie Ton.

Daß du aber gesehen hast die Füße und Zehen eines Teils Ton und eines Teils Eisen: das wird ein zerteiltes Königreich sein; doch wird von des Eisens Art darin bleiben, wie du denn gesehen hast Eisen mit Ton vermengt.

Die Füße und Zehen waren, wie du gesehen hast, teils aus Töpferton, teils aus Eisen; das bedeutet: Das Reich wird geteilt sein; es wird aber etwas von der Härte des Eisens haben, darum hast du das Eisen mit Ton vermischt gesehen.
