Der HERR sprach zu Mose:
The Appointed Boundaries of Canaan
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

»Erkläre den Israeliten, wie die Grenzen des Landes Kanaan verlaufen sollen, das ich ihnen geben will.
“Command the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance — the land of Canaan to its boundaries.
Die Südgrenze beginnt am Toten Meer und führt zunächst am Gebiet Edoms entlang. Südlich des Skorpionensteigs wendet sie sich nach Westen zur Wüste Zin. Hier verläuft sie südlich von Kadesch-Barnea nach Hazar-Addar und weiter nach Azmon.
Your southern border shall be from the Wilderness of Zin along the border of Edom; then your southern border shall extend eastward to the end of the Salt Sea;
Sie erreicht den ägyptischen Grenzfluss und folgt ihm bis zum Mittelmeer.
the border shall turn from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and it shall end at the Sea.
Die Mittelmeerküste bildet die Westgrenze.
‘As for the western border, you shall have the Great Sea for a border; this shall be your western border.
Die Nordgrenze führt vom Meer zum Berg Hor,
‘And this shall be your northern border: From the Great Sea you shall mark out your border line to Mount Hor;
kreuzt die Straße von Hamat und geht durch Zedad
from Mount Hor you shall mark out your border to the entrance of Hamath; then the direction of the border shall be toward Zedad;
und Sifron nach Hazar-Enan.
the border shall proceed to Ziphron, and it shall end at Hazar Enan. This shall be your northern border.
Hier beginnt die Ostgrenze. Sie verläuft über Schefam
‘You shall mark out your eastern border from Hazar Enan to Shepham;
nach Ribla, das im Osten von Ajin liegt. Dann führt sie an den Berghängen östlich vom See Genezareth entlang,
geht hinab zum Jordan und folgt ihm bis zum Toten Meer. Das ganze Land, das in diesen Grenzen liegt, soll euch gehören.«
the border shall go down along the Jordan, and it shall end at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land with its surrounding boundaries.’ ”
Mose sagte dies den Israeliten und fuhr fort: »Der HERR will, dass ihr dieses Land durch das Los unter den neuneinhalb Stämmen aufteilt, die noch keine Gebiete haben.
Then Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying: “This is the land which you shall inherit by lot, which the Lord has commanded to give to the nine tribes and to the half-tribe.
Denn die Stämme Ruben, Gad und der halbe Stamm Manasse haben schon hier, östlich des Jordan gegenüber von Jericho, Land bekommen.«
For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received their inheritance; and the half-tribe of Manasseh has received its inheritance.
Dann sprach der HERR zu Mose:
The Leaders Appointed to Divide the Land
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
»Folgende Männer sollen das Land verteilen: der Priester Eleasar, Josua, der Sohn von Nun,
“These are the names of the men who shall divide the land among you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun.
dazu je ein führender Mann aus jedem Stamm,
And you shall take one leader of every tribe to divide the land for the inheritance.
nämlich Kaleb, der Sohn von Jefunne aus dem Stamm Juda,
These are the names of the men: from the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh;
Schemuël, der Sohn von Ammihud aus dem Stamm Simeon,
from the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud;
Elidad, der Sohn von Kislon aus dem Stamm Benjamin,
from the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon;
Bukki, der Sohn von Jogli aus dem Stamm Dan,
a leader from the tribe of the children of Dan, Bukki the son of Jogli;
Hanniël, der Sohn von Efod aus dem Stamm Manasse,
from the sons of Joseph: a leader from the tribe of the children of Manasseh, Hanniel the son of Ephod,
Kemuël, der Sohn von Schiftan aus dem Stamm Ephraim,
and a leader from the tribe of the children of Ephraim, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan;
Elizafan, der Sohn von Parnach aus dem Stamm Sebulon,
a leader from the tribe of the children of Zebulun, Elizaphan the son of Parnach;
Paltiël, der Sohn von Asan aus dem Stamm Issachar,
a leader from the tribe of the children of Issachar, Paltiel the son of Azzan;
Ahihud, der Sohn von Schelomi aus dem Stamm Asser,
a leader from the tribe of the children of Asher, Ahihud the son of Shelomi;
und Pedahel, der Sohn von Ammihud aus dem Stamm Naftali.«
and a leader from the tribe of the children of Naphtali, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.”
