Am vierten Tag stand der Levit früh auf, um sich mit seiner Nebenfrau auf den Heimweg zu machen. Aber sein Schwiegervater hielt ihn zurück: »Iss erst einmal einen Bissen Brot und stärk dich, dann könnt ihr losziehen.«

Des vierten Tages erhoben sie sich des Morgens früh, und er machte sich auf und wollte ziehen. Da sprach der Dirne Vater zu seinem Eidam: Labe dein Herz zuvor mit einem Bissen Brot, darnach sollt ihr ziehen.

Und es geschah am vierten Tag, da erhoben sie sich frühmorgens und er machte sich auf, um wegzugehen. Da sagte der Vater der jungen Frau zu seinem Schwiegersohn: Stärke dein Herz mit einem Bissen Brot; dann könnt ihr gehen.
