Und Adonia hörte es und alle, die er geladen hatte, die bei ihm waren; und sie hatten schon gegessen. Und da Joab der Posaune Schall hörte, sprach er: Was will das Geschrei und Getümmel der Stadt?

Adonija und seine Gäste hatten gerade ihr Festmahl beendet, da drangen auch schon die Jubelrufe aus der Stadt an ihre Ohren. Als auch noch die Hörner zu hören waren, fragte Joab erstaunt: »Was soll dieser Lärm in der Stadt?«

Das hörten Adonija und alle Geladenen, die bei ihm waren. Sie hatten eben das Mahl beendet. Als Joab den Schall des Hornes hörte, rief er: Warum ist der Lärm in der Stadt so laut?
