Und die Kinder Israel ordneten sich auch und versorgten sich und zogen hin ihnen entgegen und lagerten sich gegen sie wie zwei kleine Herden Ziegen. Der Syrer aber war das Land voll.

Auch die Israeliten stellten ihre Truppen auf. Nachdem sie sich ausreichend mit Verpflegung eingedeckt hatten, marschierten sie den Syrern entgegen und schlugen ihr Lager in zwei Gruppen den Feinden gegenüber auf. Das große Heer der Syrer füllte die ganze Ebene aus; dagegen wirkten die Israeliten wie zwei verlorene Häufchen.

Auch die Israeliten wurden gemustert und mit Lebensmitteln versehen. Sie zogen den Aramäern entgegen und lagerten ihnen gegenüber wie zwei Ziegenherden; die Aramäer aber füllten die ganze Gegend.
