Und es trat der Mann Gottes herzu und sprach zum König Israels: So spricht der HERR: Darum daß die Syrer haben gesagt, der HERR sei ein Gott der Berge und nicht ein Gott der Gründe, so habe ich all diesen großen Haufen in deine Hand gegeben, daß ihr wisset, ich sei der HERR.

Da kam der Prophet zu König Ahab und teilte ihm mit: »So spricht der HERR: Weil die Syrer behauptet haben, ich, der HERR, sei ein Berggott, der im Flachland nichts ausrichten kann, darum gebe ich ihr riesiges Heer in deine Hand. Daran sollt ihr erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin.«

Nun trat der Gottesmann zum König von Israel hin und sagte: So spricht der HERR: Weil die Aramäer sagen, dass der HERR ein Gott der Berge und nicht ein Gott der Ebenen sei, gebe ich diese ganze gewaltige Menge in deine Hand; und ihr werdet erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin.
