Und da er gen Samaria kam, schlug er alles, was übrig war von Ahab zu Samaria, bis daß er ihn vertilgte nach dem Wort des HERRN, das er zu Elia geredet hatte.

Jehu brachte alle Angehörigen von Ahab um, die dort noch zurückgeblieben waren. Ahabs ganze Familie wurde ausgelöscht. Dadurch erfüllte sich, was der HERR damals durch seinen Diener Elia vorausgesagt hatte.

Als er nach Samaria kam, ließ er alle erschlagen, die vom Haus Ahab dort noch übrig geblieben waren. Sie wurden ausgerottet, wie es der HERR zu Elija gesagt hatte.
