Und des Morgens, da er ausging, trat er dahin und sprach zu allem Volk: Ihr seid ja gerecht. Siehe, habe ich wider meinen Herrn einen Bund gemacht und ihn erwürgt, wer hat denn diese alle geschlagen?

Am nächsten Morgen ging Jehu hinaus, stellte sich beim Tor auf und rief der Volksmenge zu: »Euch trifft keine Schuld an Jorams Tod. Ich allein habe die Verschwörung gegen unseren König angezettelt, und ich habe ihn auch umgebracht. Doch seine Söhne und Enkel hier habe nicht ich enthauptet!

Am nächsten Morgen ging er hinaus, trat vor das Volk und sagte: Ihr seid ohne Schuld. Ich bin es, der die Verschwörung gegen meinen Herrn angezettelt und ihn getötet hat. Doch wer hat diese alle erschlagen?
