und sprach: Wenn mir die Syrer zu stark werden, so komm mir zu Hilfe; wo aber die Kinder Ammon dir zu stark werden, will ich dir helfen.

Bevor die beiden Heere sich trennten, sagte Joab zu seinem Bruder: »Wenn die Syrer uns überlegen sind, dann komm uns mit deiner Truppe zu Hilfe. Sind die Ammoniter stärker als ihr, dann helfe ich dir mit meinen Soldaten.

Joab sagte: Wenn die Aramäer stärker sind als ich, dann komm du mir zu Hilfe! Wenn die Ammoniter stärker sind als du, dann werde ich dir zu Hilfe kommen.
