Und der König Israels versammelte der Propheten 400 Mann und sprach zu ihnen: Sollen wir gen Ramoth in Gilead ziehen in den Streit, oder soll ich’s lassen anstehen? Sie sprachen: Zieh hinauf! Gott wird sie in des Königs Hand geben.

Da ließ König Ahab von Israel seine Propheten zu sich rufen — es waren etwa 400 — und fragte sie: »Sollen wir Ramot in Gilead angreifen oder nicht?« »Geh nur«, ermutigten sie ihn, »Gott wird dir zum Sieg über diese Stadt verhelfen.«

Da versammelte der König von Israel die Propheten, vierhundert Mann, und fragte sie: Sollen wir gegen Ramot-Gilead zu Felde ziehen oder soll ich es lassen? Sie gaben den Bescheid: Zieh hinauf! Gott gibt die Stadt in die Hand des Königs.
