Daß doch der HERR, dein Gott, hören wollte die Worte des Erzschenken, welchen sein Herr, der König von Assyrien, gesandt hat, zu lästern den lebendigen Gott und zu schelten mit solchen Worten, wie der HERR, dein Gott, gehört hat! Und du wollest ein Gebet erheben für die übrigen, so noch vorhanden sind.

Doch vielleicht hat der HERR, dein Gott, alle Lästerungen des Rabschake gehört. Der Gesandte des assyrischen Königs hat den lebendigen Gott verhöhnt! Sicher hat der HERR seine Worte gehört und bestraft ihn dafür. O Jesaja, bete für uns, bete für die Überlebenden!«

Vielleicht hört der HERR, dein Gott, die Worte des Rabschake, den sein Herr, der König von Assur, gesandt hat, um den lebendigen Gott zu verhöhnen, und bestraft ihn wegen der Worte, die der HERR, dein Gott, gehört hat. So trag ein Gebet für den Rest vor, der sich noch findet!
