Die aus der Schlacht entrinnen, werden Zuflucht suchen zu Hesbon; aber es wird ein Feuer aus Hesbon und eine Flamme aus Sihon gehen, welche die Örter in Moab und die kriegerischen Leute verzehren wird.

Erschöpft suchen die Flüchtlinge Schutz in der Stadt Heschbon, wo König Sihon früher regierte. Doch von Heschbon geht ein Feuer aus, mitten aus der Stadt lodern die Flammen hervor. Sie versengen den Moabitern, diesen vorlauten Angebern, den Kopf.

Im Schatten von Heschbon bleiben erschöpft Flüchtlinge stehen, denn Feuer geht aus von Heschbon, eine Flamme mitten aus Sihon. Es verzehrt die Schläfe Moabs, den Scheitel der lärmenden Schreier.
