Und er sprach: Der HERR wird aus Zion brüllen und seine Stimme aus Jerusalem hören lassen, daß die Auen der Hirten jämmerlich stehen werden und der Karmel oben verdorren wird.

Amos verkündete dem Volk: »Mächtig wie das Brüllen eines Löwen ertönt die Stimme des HERRN vom Berg Zion in Jerusalem. Da vertrocknen die saftigen Weiden der Hirten, und die Wälder auf dem Gipfel des Karmel verdorren.

Er sprach: Der HERR brüllt vom Zion her, aus Jerusalem lässt er seine Stimme erschallen. Da welken die Auen der Hirten und der Gipfel des Karmel verdorrt.
