Und ich gebot euch zu der Zeit und sprach: Der HERR, euer Gott, hat euch dies Land gegeben einzunehmen; so ziehet nun gerüstet vor euren Brüder, den Kindern Israel, her, was streitbar ist,

Damals sagte ich zu den Stämmen Ruben, Gad und Manasse: »Der HERR, euer Gott, schenkt euch dieses Land. Trotzdem sollt ihr mit euren Bruderstämmen den Jordan überqueren und ihnen helfen, Kanaan zu erobern. Eure wehrfähigen Männer sollen bewaffnet an der Spitze der Israeliten hinüberziehen.

Damals gebot ich euch: Der HERR, euer Gott, hat euch dieses Land gegeben, sodass ihr es in Besitz genommen habt. Doch jetzt, in Waffen, sollt ihr zunächst mit allen Wehrfähigen an der Spitze eurer Brüder, der Israeliten, über den Jordan ziehen.
