denn so wahr der HERR lebt, der Heiland Israels, und ob sie gleich an meinem Sohn Jonathan wäre, so soll er sterben! Und niemand antwortete ihm aus dem ganzen Volk.

Bei dem HERRN, der Israel geholfen hat, schwöre ich: Der Schuldige muss sofort sterben, selbst wenn es mein Sohn Jonatan wäre.« Aber keiner aus dem Volk gab ihm eine Antwort.

So wahr der HERR, der Retter Israels, lebt: Selbst wenn es sich um meinen Sohn Jonatan handeln würde — er muss sterben. Doch niemand aus dem Volk antwortete.
