Heutigestages wird dich der HERR in meine Hand überantworten, daß ich dich schlage und nehme dein Haupt von dir und gebe die Leichname des Heeres der Philister heute den Vögeln unter dem Himmel und dem Wild auf Erden, daß alles Land innewerde, daß Israel einen Gott hat,

Heute noch wird der HERR dich in meine Gewalt geben, ich werde dich besiegen und dir den Kopf abschlagen. Dann werfe ich die Leichen deiner Leute, der Philister, den Vögeln und wilden Tieren zum Fraß vor. Die ganze Welt soll erfahren, dass wir Israeliten einen mächtigen Gott haben.

Heute wird dich der HERR mir ausliefern. Ich werde dich erschlagen und dir den Kopf abhauen. Die Leichen des Heeres der Philister werde ich noch heute den Vögeln des Himmels und den wilden Tieren geben. Alle Welt soll erkennen, dass Israel einen Gott hat.
