Da sprachen die Fürsten der Philister: Was sollen diese Hebräer? Achis sprach zu ihnen: Ist nicht das David, der Knecht Sauls, des Königs Israels, der nun bei mir gewesen ist Jahr und Tag, und ich habe nichts an ihm gefunden, seit der Zeit, daß er abgefallen ist, bis her?

»Was haben denn diese Hebräer hier verloren?«, wollten die Heerführer der Philister wissen. Achisch antwortete: »Das ist David, der früher im Dienste König Sauls von Israel stand. Er ist nun schon lange bei mir. Seit er zu mir übergelaufen ist, hatte ich noch nie etwas an ihm auszusetzen.«

fragten die Obersten der Philister: Was sollen diese Hebräer hier? Achisch antwortete den Obersten der Philister: Das ist doch David, der Knecht Sauls, des Königs von Israel, der seit Jahr und Tag bei mir ist. Seit dem Tag, da er übergelaufen ist, bis heute fand ich bei ihm nichts Nachteiliges.
