The pride of man will be humbled
And the loftiness of men will be abased;
And the LORD alone will be exalted in that day,

And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

So macht er den Hochmut der Menschen zunichte. Die stolzen Herren liegen dann im Staub, und mit den Götzen ist es aus und vorbei. An diesem Tag wird nur einer groß sein: der HERR!

und gebeugt werden wird der Hochmut der Menschen und senken wird sich der Stolz der Männer — aber erhaben wird sein der HERR allein — an jenem Tag.
