And the Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them, No one shall make himself unclean for the dead among his people,
And the Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them, No one shall make himself unclean for the dead among his people,
Der HERR befahl Mose, folgende Anweisungen den Priestern, den Nachkommen Aarons, weiterzugeben: »Ein Priester darf sich nicht verunreinigen, indem er mit einer Leiche in Berührung kommt.
except for his closest relatives, his mother, his father, his son, his daughter, his brother,
Er darf sich nur unrein machen, wenn jemand von seinen engsten Familienangehörigen stirbt — der Vater, die Mutter, ein Sohn, eine Tochter, ein Bruder oder eine unverheiratete Schwester, die in seinem Haus gewohnt hat.
He shall not make himself unclean as a husband among his people and so profane himself.
War seine Schwester aber verheiratet, darf er ihre Leiche nicht berühren, denn er würde sich sonst verunreinigen.
They shall not make bald patches on their heads, nor shave off the edges of their beards, nor make any cuts on their body.
Kein Priester darf sich bei einem Trauerfall den Kopf kahl scheren, den Bart stutzen oder sich die Haut einritzen.
They shall be holy to their God and not profane the name of their God. For they offer the Lord’s food offerings, the bread of their God; therefore they shall be holy.
Ein Priester soll heilig sein und mir allein dienen. Meinen Namen darf er nicht entweihen, denn er bringt mir, dem HERRN, seinem Gott, die Opfer dar. Sie sind meine Speise, darum muss er darauf achten, dass er sich nicht verunreinigt.
They shall not marry a prostitute or a woman who has been defiled, neither shall they marry a woman divorced from her husband, for the priest is holy to his God.
Er darf weder eine Prostituierte heiraten noch ein Mädchen, das keine Jungfrau mehr ist, noch eine geschiedene Frau. Denn er ist mir, seinem Gott, geweiht.
You shall sanctify him, for he offers the bread of your God. He shall be holy to you, for I, the Lord, who sanctify you, am holy.
Ein Priester soll als ein heiliger Mann geachtet werden, denn er bringt die Opfer für mich dar. Betrachtet ihn als heilig, denn ich, der HERR, bin heilig und mache euch zu meinem heiligen Volk.
And the daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by whoring, profanes her father; she shall be burned with fire.
Wenn die Tochter eines Priesters zu einer Prostituierten wird, entehrt sie sich und ihren Vater. Darum soll sie verbrannt werden.
“The priest who is chief among his brothers, on whose head the anointing oil is poured and who has been consecrated to wear the garments, shall not let the hair of his head hang loose nor tear his clothes.
Der Hohepriester wurde mit Öl gesalbt und in sein Amt eingesetzt. Er trägt die heiligen Gewänder. Deshalb darf er nicht als Zeichen der Trauer seine Haare ungekämmt lassen oder seine Kleidung zerreißen.
He shall not go in to any dead bodies nor make himself unclean, even for his father or for his mother.
Er darf mit keiner Leiche in Berührung kommen, nicht einmal mit der seines Vaters oder seiner Mutter, damit er sich nicht verunreinigt.
He shall not go out of the sanctuary, lest he profane the sanctuary of his God, for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is on him: I am the Lord.
Bei einem Todesfall in seiner Familie soll er den Bereich des Heiligtums nicht verlassen, um an den Trauerritualen teilzunehmen. Er würde sonst das Heiligtum entweihen, denn er ist mit dem heiligen Öl zum Priester geweiht worden. Ich bin der HERR!
keine Witwe, keine Geschiedene und keine Prostituierte, sondern nur ein Mädchen aus seinem eigenen Volk.
that he may not profane his offspring among his people, for I am the Lord who sanctifies him.”
Denn sonst würden seine Kinder unrein. Ich bin der HERR, der ihn zu seinem heiligen Diener gemacht hat!«
“Speak to Aaron, saying, None of your offspring throughout their generations who has a blemish may approach to offer the bread of his God.
»Dies sollst du Aaron ausrichten: Wenn einer seiner Nachkommen eine Krankheit oder eine Behinderung hat, darf er mir keine Opfergaben auf dem Altar darbringen. Dies gilt für alle Generationen.
For no one who has a blemish shall draw near, a man blind or lame, or one who has a mutilated face or a limb too long,
Kein Blinder oder Gelähmter darf den Dienst im Heiligtum verrichten, auch kein Verstümmelter oder Entstellter,
or a man who has an injured foot or an injured hand,
niemand mit einem gebrochenen Fuß oder einer gebrochenen Hand,
or a hunchback or a dwarf or a man with a defect in his sight or an itching disease or scabs or crushed testicles.
mit Buckel oder Muskelschwund oder einem krankhaften Fleck im Auge, niemand, der an Krätze oder an einer Hautkrankheit leidet oder verletzte Hoden hat.
No man of the offspring of Aaron the priest who has a blemish shall come near to offer the Lord’s food offerings; since he has a blemish, he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God.
Kein Nachkomme Aarons mit einer Krankheit oder Behinderung darf zum Altar treten, um mir, dem HERRN, die Opfer darzubringen, die meine Speise sind.
He may eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy and of the holy things,
Er darf zwar von den heiligen, ja sogar von den besonders heiligen Opfergaben essen, die den Priestern zustehen,
aber er soll nicht an den Vorhang zum Allerheiligsten und an den Brandopferaltar treten! Er würde sonst mein Heiligtum und alle seine heiligen Gegenstände entweihen. Ich bin der HERR, und mein Heiligtum soll heilig bleiben!«
