The Destruction of Israel
I saw the Lord standing besidea the altar, and he said:
“Strike the capitals until the thresholds shake,
and shatter them on the heads of all the people;b
and those who are left of them I will kill with the sword;
not one of them shall flee away;
not one of them shall escape.

Ich sah den Herrn in Bethel am Altar stehen; er befahl: »Schlag auf die Kapitelle der Tempelsäulen, dass die Türschwellen erbeben! Zerschmettere die Säulen, damit die Trümmer den Leuten auf den Kopf fallen! Und wer das überlebt, den lasse ich vom Schwert durchbohren. Keiner wird fliehen können, niemand wird entkommen und sich retten.

Auch wenn sie in die Totenwelt eindringen und sich verstecken könnten — ich würde sie sogar von dort zurückholen! Und wenn sie in den Himmel heraufsteigen könnten, würde ich sie wieder hinunterstürzen.

Wollten sie auf den Gipfel des Karmel fliehen, würde ich sie auch dort finden und zurückholen. Könnten sie sich auf dem Meeresboden verbergen, würde ich der Meeresschlange befehlen, sie mit einem Biss zu töten.

Der HERR ist der allmächtige Gott! Berührt er die Erde, so fängt sie an zu schwanken. Sie hebt und senkt sich wie der Nil in Ägypten, und die Menschen trauern alle miteinander um ihre Toten.

Im Himmel hat er die Stufen zu seinem Thron gebaut und auf der Erde die Fundamente für das Himmelsgewölbe gelegt. Er ruft das Wasser aus dem Meer, und schon ergießt es sich auf die Erde. Sein Name ist »der HERR«!
“Are you not like the Cushites to me,
O people of Israel?” declares the Lord.

So spricht der HERR: »Glaubt ihr Israeliten wirklich, ihr wärt besser als die Äthiopier? Es ist wahr: Ich habe euch aus Ägypten befreit. Aber genauso habe ich die Philister aus Kreta herausgeführt und die Syrer aus Kir.

Ich sehe ganz genau, wie man in Israel, diesem verdorbenen Königreich, gegen mich sündigt. Darum lasse ich es vom Erdboden verschwinden! Doch ich, Gott, der HERR, will euch Nachkommen von Jakob nicht völlig ausrotten. Darauf könnt ihr euch verlassen!

Ich befehle, euch unter alle Völker zu zerstreuen und durchzuschütteln. So wie in einem Sieb die Steine hängen bleiben,

who say, ‘Disaster shall not overtake or meet us.’

so siebe ich die Schuldigen aus meinem Volk aus, sie, die jetzt noch selbstgefällig sagen: ›Menschen wie uns lässt Gott nichts zustoßen. Kein Unglück wird uns treffen.‹ Gerade sie werden vom Schwert durchbohrt!«

Gott sagt: »An jenem Tag werde ich das Reich von König David wieder aufbauen. Jetzt gleicht es zwar einem verfallenen Haus, doch dann richte ich die umgestürzten Wände wieder auf und schließe die Risse in der Mauer. Ja, ich lasse es wieder in seinem alten Glanz erstehen.
Die Israeliten werden in Besitz nehmen, was vom Gebiet der Edomiter übrig geblieben ist. Auch über all die anderen Völker, die ich zu meinem Eigentum erklärt habe, werden sie ihre Herrschaft ausdehnen. Dafür sorge ich, der HERR. Mein Wort gilt!

Es kommt die Zeit, da wird es eine sehr reiche Ernte geben. Dann mähen die Arbeiter noch das Getreide ab, wenn der Bauer schon kommt, um den Acker wieder zu pflügen. Man tritt die Trauben noch in der Kelter, obwohl die Zeit der Aussaat schon wieder begonnen hat. Ja, es wird so viele Trauben geben, dass ihr Saft die Berge und Hügel herabfließt!

Denn ich wende das Schicksal meines Volkes wieder zum Guten. Die Israeliten bauen die verwüsteten Städte wieder auf und werden auch darin wohnen, sie pflanzen Weinberge an und werden den Wein davon trinken, sie legen Gärten an und werden deren Früchte genießen.

Ich pflanze sie wieder in ihr Land ein, und niemand wird sie dann mehr herausreißen. Denn dieses Land habe ich, der HERR, ihr Gott, ihnen gegeben. Mein Wort gilt!«
