Jesus Foretells Destruction of the Temple
And as he came out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look, Teacher, what wonderful stones and what wonderful buildings!”

Und da er aus dem Tempel ging, sprach zu ihm seiner Jünger einer: Meister, siehe, welche Steine und welch ein Bau ist das!
And Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? There will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”
Und Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Siehst du wohl allen diesen großen Bau? Nicht ein Stein wird auf dem anderen bleiben, der nicht zerbrochen werde.
Signs of the End of the Age

Jesus antwortete ihnen und fing an, zu sagen: Sehet zu, das euch nicht jemand verführe!
Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and they will lead many astray.
Denn es werden viele kommen unter meinem Namen und sagen: «Ich bin Christus« und werden viele verführen.
And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. This must take place, but the end is not yet.
Wenn ihr aber hören werdet von Kriegen und Kriegsgeschrei, so fürchtet euch nicht. Denn es muß also geschehen; aber das Ende ist noch nicht da.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains.
Es wird sich ein Volk wider das andere empören und ein Königreich wider das andere, und werden Erdbeben geschehen hin und wieder, und wird teure Zeit und Schrecken sein. Das ist der Not Anfang.
“But be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten in synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them.
Ihr aber, sehet euch vor! Denn sie werden euch überantworten vor die Rathäuser und Schulen; und ihr müßt gestäupt werden, und vor Fürsten und Könige müßt ihr geführt werden um meinetwillen, zu einem Zeugnis über sie.
And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all nations.
Und das Evangelium muß zuvor verkündigt werden unter alle Völker.
And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
Wenn sie euch nun führen und überantworten werden, so sorget nicht, was ihr reden sollt, und bedenket auch nicht zuvor; sondern was euch zu der Stunde gegeben wird, das redet. Denn ihr seid’s nicht, die da reden, sondern der heilige Geist.
And brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death.
Es wird aber überantworten ein Bruder den andern zum Tode und der Vater den Sohn, und die Kinder werden sich empören wider die Eltern und werden sie helfen töten.
And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
Und ihr werdet gehaßt sein von jedermann um meines Namens willen. Wer aber beharret bis an das Ende, der wird selig.
The Abomination of Desolation
“But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not to be (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

Wenn ihr aber sehen werdet den Greuel der Verwüstung (von dem der Prophet Daniel gesagt hat), daß er steht, wo er nicht soll (wer es liest, der merke darauf!), alsdann, wer in Judäa ist, der fliehe auf die Berge;
Let the one who is on the housetop not go down, nor enter his house, to take anything out,
und wer auf dem Dache ist, der steige nicht hernieder ins Haus und komme nicht hinein, etwas zu holen aus seinem Hause;
and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak.
und wer auf dem Felde ist, der wende sich nicht um, seine Kleider zu holen.
And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days!
Weh aber den Schwangeren und Säugerinnen zu der Zeit!
For in those days there will be such tribulation as has not been from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, and never will be.
Denn in diesen Tagen werden solche Trübsale sein, wie sie nie gewesen sind bisher, vom Anfang der Kreatur, die Gott geschaffen hat, und wie auch nicht werden wird.
And if the Lord had not cut short the days, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, whom he chose, he shortened the days.
Und so der HERR diese Tage nicht verkürzt hätte, würde kein Mensch selig; aber um der Auserwählten willen, die er auserwählt hat, hat er diese Tage verkürzt.
And then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it.
Wenn nun jemand zu der Zeit wird zu euch sagen: Siehe, hier ist Christus! siehe, da ist er! so glaubet nicht.
For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, the elect.
Denn es werden sich erheben falsche Christi und falsche Propheten, die Zeichen und Wunder tun, daß sie auch die Auserwählten verführen, so es möglich wäre.
But be on guard; I have told you all things beforehand.
Ihr aber sehet euch vor! Siehe, ich habe es euch alles zuvor gesagt.
The Coming of the Son of Man
“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light,

Aber zu der Zeit, nach dieser Trübsal, werden Sonne und Mond ihren Schein verlieren,
and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
und die Sterne werden vom Himmel fallen, und die Kräfte der Himmel werden sich bewegen.
And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.
Und dann werden sie sehen des Menschen Sohn kommen in den Wolken mit großer Kraft und Herrlichkeit.
And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.
Und dann wird er seine Engel senden und wird versammeln seine Auserwählten von den vier Winden, von dem Ende der Erde bis zum Ende des Himmels.
The Lesson of the Fig Tree
“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near.

An dem Feigenbaum lernet ein Gleichnis: wenn jetzt seine Zweige saftig werden und Blätter gewinnen, so wißt ihr, daß der Sommer nahe ist.
So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates.
Also auch, wenn ihr sehet, daß solches geschieht, so wisset, daß es nahe vor der Tür ist.
Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
Wahrlich ich sage euch: Dies Geschlecht wird nicht vergehen, bis daß dies alles geschehe.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
Himmel und Erde werden vergehen; meine Worte aber werden nicht vergehen.
No One Knows That Day or Hour
“But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Von dem Tage aber und der Stunde weiß niemand, auch die Engel nicht im Himmel, auch der Sohn nicht, sondern allein der Vater.
Sehet zu, wachet und betet; denn ihr wisset nicht, wann es Zeit ist.
Gleich als ein Mensch, der über Land zog und verließ sein Haus und gab seinen Knechten Macht, einem jeglichen sein Werk, und gebot dem Türhüter, er sollte wachen.
So wachet nun (denn ihr wisset nicht, wann der Herr des Hauses kommt, ob er kommt am Abend oder zu Mitternacht oder um den Hahnenschrei oder des Morgens,
lest he come suddenly and find you asleep.
auf daß er nicht schnell komme und finde euch schlafend.
