By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,
Daran erkennt ihr den Geist Gottes: Jeder Geist, der Jesus Christus bekennt als im Fleisch gekommen, ist aus Gott
and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.
und jeder Geist, der Jesus nicht bekennt, ist nicht aus Gott. Das ist der Geist des Antichrists, über den ihr gehört habt, dass er kommt. Jetzt ist er schon in der Welt.
Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
Wir aber sind aus Gott. Wer Gott erkennt, hört auf uns; wer nicht aus Gott ist, hört nicht auf uns. Daran erkennen wir den Geist der Wahrheit und den Geist des Irrtums.
God Is Love
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.

Geliebte, wir wollen einander lieben; denn die Liebe ist aus Gott und jeder, der liebt, stammt von Gott und erkennt Gott.
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Wer nicht liebt, hat Gott nicht erkannt; denn Gott ist Liebe.
In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.
Darin offenbarte sich die Liebe Gottes unter uns, dass Gott seinen einzigen Sohn in die Welt gesandt hat, damit wir durch ihn leben.
In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Darin besteht die Liebe: Nicht dass wir Gott geliebt haben, sondern dass er uns geliebt und seinen Sohn als Sühne für unsere Sünden gesandt hat.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
Niemand hat Gott je geschaut; wenn wir einander lieben, bleibt Gott in uns und seine Liebe ist in uns vollendet.
By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.
Wir haben geschaut und bezeugen, dass der Vater den Sohn gesandt hat als Retter der Welt.
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
Wer bekennt, dass Jesus der Sohn Gottes ist, in dem bleibt Gott und er bleibt in Gott.
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
Wir haben die Liebe, die Gott zu uns hat, erkannt und gläubig angenommen. FURCHT UND LIEBE: 4,16B–21 Gott ist Liebe, und wer in der Liebe bleibt, bleibt in Gott und Gott bleibt in ihm.
By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world.
Darin ist unter uns die Liebe vollendet, dass wir am Tag des Gerichts Zuversicht haben. Denn wie er, so sind auch wir in dieser Welt.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
Furcht gibt es in der Liebe nicht, sondern die vollkommene Liebe vertreibt die Furcht. Denn die Furcht rechnet mit Strafe, wer sich aber fürchtet, ist nicht vollendet in der Liebe.
Wenn jemand sagt: Ich liebe Gott!, aber seinen Bruder hasst, ist er ein Lügner. Denn wer seinen Bruder nicht liebt, den er sieht, kann Gott nicht lieben, den er nicht sieht.
