Josef ging also hin, berichtete dem Pharao und sagte: Mein Vater und meine Brüder sind mit ihren Schafen, Ziegen und Rindern und mit allem, was ihnen gehört, aus Kanaan gekommen. Siehe, sie sind bereits im Land Goschen.

Da kam Joseph und sagte es Pharao an und sprach: Mein Vater und meine Brüder, ihr kleines und großes Vieh und alles, was sie haben, sind gekommen aus dem Lande Kanaan; und siehe, sie sind im Lande Gosen.

Wie versprochen, ging Josef zum Pharao. »Mein Vater und meine Brüder sind von Kanaan hierhergekommen«, sagte er, »ihren Besitz und ihre Viehherden haben sie mitgebracht. Jetzt sind sie in Goschen.« Dann holte er fünf seiner Brüder herein und stellte sie dem Pharao vor.
