And the sons of Meshelemiah were, Zechariah the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth,
Meschelemja hatte sieben Söhne; der erste hieß Secharja, dann folgten Jediaël, Sebadja, Jatniël,
Moreover the sons of Obededom were, Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Nethaneel the fifth,
Weiter Obed-Edom; er hatte acht Söhne, denn Gott hatte ihn besonders gesegnet. Der älteste war Schemaja, dann folgten Josabad, Joach, Sachar, Netanel, Ammiël, Issachar und Pëulletai.

Hosa gehörte zur Sippe Merari. Seine Söhne hießen Schimri, Hilkija, Tebalja und Secharja. Hosa hatte Schimri zum Oberhaupt der Dienstgruppe ernannt, obwohl er nicht der älteste Sohn war. Zu Hosas Familie gehörten 13 Männer.

Die Dienstgruppen der Torwächter wurden von den Familienoberhäuptern und allen übrigen Männern gebildet. Wie die anderen Leviten versahen auch sie ihren Dienst im Tempel des HERRN.
