Elihu Proclaims God's Majesty
At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.

Darum erbebt mein Herz sehr heftig, will mir von seiner Stelle springen.
Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.
Hört, hört das Toben seiner Stimme, welch ein Grollen seinem Mund entfährt!
He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.
Unter dem ganzen Himmel lässt er es los und sein Licht über die Säume der Erde.
After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.
Hinter ihm brüllt der Donner drein, er dröhnt mit erhabener Stimme. Nicht hält er sie zurück, wenn sein Donner gehört wird.
God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
Gott dröhnt mit seiner Stimme, wunderbar, tut große Dinge, wir verstehen sie nicht:
For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.
Dem Schnee befiehlt er: Fall zur Erde!, dem Regenschwall, seinen mächtigen Güssen.
He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
Er versiegelt die Hand aller Menschen, sodass alle Welt sein Tun erkennt.
Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
Die Tiere verkriechen sich in ihr Versteck, sie lagern in ihren Höhlen.
Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
Aus seiner Kammer kommt der Sturm, von den Winden des Nordens die Kälte.
By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
Durch Gottes Hauch macht er das Eis, liegt starr des Wassers Fläche.
Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:
Auch belädt er das Gewölk mit Nass, streut umher die leuchtenden Wolken.
And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
Sie ziehen hin und her, wie er sie lenkt, um alles, was er ihnen gebietet, zu wirken auf dem Kreis der Erde.
He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
Sei es als Zuchtrute für seine Erde, sei es als Erweis seiner Huld, so lässt er sie treffen.
Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
Hör dir dies an, Ijob! Steh still, um die Wunder Gottes zu betrachten!
Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
Weißt du, wie Gott ihnen Auftrag gibt, wie das Licht seiner Wolke aufstrahlt?
Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
Weißt du um der Wolke Schweben, um die Wunderwerke des Allwissenden?
How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
Du, dem die Kleider vor Hitze glühen, wenn die Erde unter dem Südwind liegt,
Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?
wölbst du gleich ihm das Wolkenfirmament, das fest ist wie ein gegossener Spiegel?
Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.
Lehre du uns, was wir ihm sagen sollen! Nichts können wir vorbringen wegen der Finsternis.
Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.
Muss man ihm erst erzählen, wenn ich rede? Muss es erst einer sagen, dass es ihm mitgeteilt wird?
And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.
Und nun, wenn man das Licht nicht sieht, ist es verdunkelt durch die Wolken, ein Wind bläst und fegt sie weg.
Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.
Vom Norden naht ein goldener Glanz, um Gott her ist Furcht erregende Herrlichkeit.
Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.
Den Allmächtigen ergründen wir nicht, er ist erhaben an Macht und Recht, er ist reich an Gerechtigkeit; Recht beugt er nicht.
