Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul.

Halleluja! Lobe den HERRN, meine Seele!
While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.
Ich will den HERRN loben, solange ich lebe, und meinem Gott lobsingen, solange ich hier bin.
Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
Verlasset euch nicht auf Fürsten; sie sind Menschen, die können ja nicht helfen.
His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
Denn des Menschen Geist muß davon, und er muß wieder zu Erde werden; alsdann sind verloren alle seine Anschläge.
Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:
Wohl dem, des Hilfe der Gott Jakobs ist; des Hoffnung auf dem HERRN, seinem Gott, steht;
Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:
der Himmel, Erde, Meer und alles, was darinnen ist, gemacht hat; der Glauben hält ewiglich;
Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners:
der Recht schafft denen, so Gewalt leiden; der die Hungrigen speist. Der HERR löst die Gefangenen.
The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:
Der HERR macht die Blinden sehend. Der HERR richtet auf, die niedergeschlagen sind. Der HERR liebt die Gerechten.
The LORD preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.
Der HERR behütet die Fremdlinge und erhält Waisen und Witwen und kehrt zurück den Weg der Gottlosen.
