For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
Gott, schweige nicht! Sieh nicht so still und untätig zu!
They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
Höre doch, wie deine Feinde rebellieren; alle, die dich hassen, sind stolz und siegessicher.
They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
Sie planen einen heimtückischen Anschlag auf dein Volk; sie halten Kriegsrat gegen die Menschen, die unter deinem Schutz stehen.
For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
»Kommt!«, sagen sie, »wir wollen dieses Volk ausrotten! Den Namen Israel soll niemand mehr kennen!«
The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
Darin sind sie sich völlig einig, alle haben sich gegen dich verschworen:
Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;

Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:
Bei En-Dor wurden sie vernichtet, und ihre Leichen verrotteten auf dem Acker.
Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.
Töte ihre Fürsten wie Oreb und Seeb, bestrafe ihre Machthaber wie Sebach und Zalmunna!
O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
Sie alle hatten einst gesagt: »Wir erobern das Land, das Gott gehört!«
As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
Mein Gott! Wirble sie davon wie ausgedörrte Disteln, wie Spreu, die der Wind verweht!
So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
Wie ein Flächenbrand, dessen Flammen Berge und Wälder fressen,
Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
so verfolge sie durch ein Unwetter, erschrecke sie mit einem Sturm!
Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
Lass sie vor Scham erröten, damit sie endlich nach dir, HERR, fragen!
