The Tabernacle Underwritten

And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it:

And they received of Moses all the offering, which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it withal. And they brought yet unto him free offerings every morning.

And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing.
Mose ließ im ganzen Lager ausrufen: »Ihr Männer und Frauen, ihr braucht nichts mehr für den Bau des Heiligtums herzubringen!« Da brachten die Israeliten keine weiteren Gaben.
For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.

The Construction Proceeds

Die Kunsthandwerker fertigten das heilige Zelt an: Unter der Leitung von Bezalel webten sie zehn Bahnen Zelttuch und verwendeten dazu violette, purpurrote und karmesinrote Wolle sowie feines Leinen. Auf die Zeltbahnen stickten sie Bilder von Keruben.
The length of one curtain was twenty and eight cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: the curtains were all of one size.

also 50 Schlaufen an der einen und ebenso viele an der anderen Zeltdecke. Die Decken wurden so aneinandergelegt, dass die Schlaufen einander gegenüberstanden.

Dann schmiedete Bezalel 50 goldene Haken, die jeweils zwei gegenüberliegende Schlaufen verbanden und so die beiden Decken zu einem großen Zelt zusammenfügten.

Außerdem ließ er elf Zeltbahnen aus Ziegenhaar weben, jede davon 15 Meter lang und 2 Meter breit. Sie sollten als Dach über das erste Zelt gelegt werden.

One board had two tenons, equally distant one from another: thus did he make for all the boards of the tabernacle.

And for the other side of the tabernacle, which is toward the north corner, he made twenty boards,

und zwei weitere Wandteile für die Ecken an der Rückseite des Zeltes. Sie waren auf ganzer Länge gewinkelt und an ihrem oberen Ende durch einen Ring befestigt, um so die Eckkonstruktion der Wände zu bilden.

Die Rückseite bestand also insgesamt aus acht Platten mit sechzehn silbernen Sockeln, jeweils zwei Sockeln unter einer Platte.
The Bars
And he made bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,

Nun fertigte Bezalel Querbalken aus Akazienholz an, jeweils fünf Stück für jede Längsseite und die westliche Querseite. Diese Balken sollten die aufrecht stehenden Platten zusammenhalten.

The Veil

Bezalel ließ einen Vorhang weben aus violetter, purpurroter und karmesinroter Wolle und feinem Leinen, kunstvoll verziert mit Bildern von Keruben.

Dann wurden unter seiner Leitung für den Vorhang vier Pfosten aus Akazienholz angefertigt, außerdem goldene Haken und silberne Sockel. Die Pfosten wurden mit Gold überzogen.

Einen weiteren Vorhang ließ Bezalel für den Zelteingang herstellen, ebenfalls aus violetter, purpurroter und karmesinroter Wolle sowie aus feinem Leinen, bunt und kunstvoll gewebt.

Der Vorhang wurde mit Haken an fünf Akazienholzpfosten befestigt, deren Kapitelle und Verbindungsstangen mit Gold überzogen waren. Sie standen jeweils auf einem bronzenen Sockel.
