And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment?

Ich, Micha, sagte: Hört her, ihr führenden Männer Israels, ihr Nachkommen von Jakob! Eigentlich solltet ihr doch das Recht kennen.
Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;
Aber ihr hasst das Gute und liebt das Böse. Ihr geht mit meinem Volk um wie mit Schlachtvieh, dem man die Haut abzieht, das Fleisch herunterschneidet und die Knochen zerhackt. Dann werft ihr alles zusammen in einen Topf und lasst es euch schmecken!
Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.
Doch es kommt der Tag, da werdet ihr zum HERRN um Hilfe schreien, aber er wird euch nicht mehr anhören. Er will nichts mehr mit euch zu tun haben wegen all eurer Verbrechen.
Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.
Auch für eure Propheten hat der HERR eine Botschaft! Glück und Frieden sagen sie denen voraus, die ihnen zu essen geben. Doch wer ihnen keine Geschenke gibt, dem drohen sie mit Gottes Strafgericht. Weil sie das Volk in die Irre führen, kündigt Gott ihnen an:
Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.
»Finsterste Nacht wird über euch hereinbrechen, so dass ihr nicht mehr in die Zukunft schauen könnt und vergeblich auf Visionen wartet. Die Sonne wird nicht mehr für euch scheinen, selbst am helllichten Tag tappt ihr im Dunkeln.
Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.
Mit eurer Wahrsagerei und euren Prophezeiungen ist es dann endgültig vorbei, ihr müsst euch in Grund und Boden schämen! Denn ich antworte nicht mehr, wenn ihr mich befragt. Ihr könnt nur noch vor Trauer euer Gesicht verhüllen.«
But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.
Mich aber hat der HERR mit seinem Geist erfüllt. Er gibt mir die Kraft und den Mut, für das Recht einzutreten und den Israeliten ihre Vergehen vorzuwerfen. Ich nenne ihre Sünden beim Namen.
Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity.
Hört her, ihr führenden Männer Israels, ihr Nachkommen von Jakob! Ihr verabscheut das Recht und setzt euch bedenkenlos darüber hinweg.
They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.
Ihr baut Jerusalem aus und geht dabei über Leichen, eure Häuser sind auf Unrecht gegründet.
The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.
Die Richter sind bestechlich, die Priester lassen sich für jeden Rat gut bezahlen, und auch die Propheten schlagen Geld aus ihrer Wahrsagerei. Doch alle berufen sich auf den HERRN und behaupten: »Der HERR ist mitten unter uns, es kann uns nichts passieren!«
Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.
Darum wird der Berg Zion zu einem umgepflügten Acker werden, die Stadt Jerusalem zu einem Trümmerhaufen, und auf dem Tempelberg wird das Gestrüpp wuchern! Ihr seid schuld daran, dass dies alles so kommt!
