Jesus the True Vine
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
»Ich bin der wahre Weinstock, und mein Vater ist der Weingärtner.
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
Alle Reben am Weinstock, die keine Trauben tragen, schneidet er ab. Aber die Frucht tragenden Reben beschneidet er sorgfältig, damit sie noch mehr Frucht bringen.
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
Ihr seid schon gute Reben, weil ihr meine Botschaft gehört habt.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
Bleibt fest mit mir verbunden, und ich werde ebenso mit euch verbunden bleiben! Denn eine Rebe kann nicht aus sich selbst heraus Früchte tragen, sondern nur, wenn sie am Weinstock hängt. Ebenso werdet auch ihr nur Frucht bringen, wenn ihr mit mir verbunden bleibt.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Ich bin der Weinstock, und ihr seid die Reben. Wer mit mir verbunden bleibt, so wie ich mit ihm, der trägt viel Frucht. Denn ohne mich könnt ihr nichts ausrichten.
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
Wer ohne mich lebt, wird wie eine unfruchtbare Rebe abgeschnitten und weggeworfen. Die verdorrten Reben werden gesammelt, ins Feuer geworfen und verbrannt.
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Wenn ihr aber fest mit mir verbunden bleibt und euch meine Worte zu Herzen nehmt, dürft ihr von Gott erbitten, was ihr wollt; ihr werdet es erhalten.
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
Wenn ihr viel Frucht bringt und euch so als meine Jünger erweist, wird die Herrlichkeit meines Vaters sichtbar.
As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
Wie mich der Vater liebt, so liebe ich euch. Bleibt in meiner Liebe!
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
Wenn ihr nach meinen Geboten lebt, wird meine Liebe euch umschließen. Auch ich richte mich nach den Geboten meines Vaters und lebe in seiner Liebe.
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
Das alles sage ich euch, damit meine Freude euch erfüllt und eure Freude dadurch vollkommen wird.
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Und so lautet mein Gebot: Liebt einander, wie ich euch geliebt habe.
Greater Love has No One than This
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Niemand liebt mehr als einer, der sein Leben für die Freunde hingibt.
Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
Und ihr seid meine Freunde, wenn ihr tut, was ich euch aufgetragen habe.
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
Ich nenne euch nicht mehr Diener; denn einem Diener sagt der Herr nicht, was er vorhat. Ihr aber seid meine Freunde; denn ich habe euch alles anvertraut, was ich vom Vater gehört habe.
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Nicht ihr habt mich erwählt, sondern ich habe euch erwählt. Ich habe euch dazu bestimmt, dass ihr euch auf den Weg macht und Frucht bringt — Frucht, die bleibt. Dann wird euch der Vater alles geben, worum ihr ihn in meinem Namen bittet.
These things I command you, that ye love one another.
Das ist mein Auftrag an euch: Liebt einander!«
The Hatred of the World
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
»Wenn die Menschen euch hassen, dann vergesst nicht, dass man mich schon vor euch gehasst hat.
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Diese Welt würde euch lieben, wenn ihr zu ihr gehören würdet. Doch ihr gehört nicht mehr dazu. Ich selbst habe euch erwählt und aus der Welt herausgerufen. Darum hasst sie euch.
Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
Erinnert euch daran, dass ich gesagt habe: ›Ein Diener steht niemals höher als sein Herr!‹ Deshalb werden sie euch verfolgen, wie sie mich verfolgt haben. Und wenn sie auf meine Worte gehört haben, werden sie auch auf eure hören.
But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.
Das alles wird mit euch geschehen, weil ihr euch zu mir bekennt; denn die Welt kennt Gott nicht, der mich gesandt hat.
If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
Wäre ich nicht in diese Welt gekommen und hätte die Menschen gelehrt, wären sie nicht schuldig. Aber jetzt gibt es keine Entschuldigung mehr dafür, dass sie Gott den Rücken kehren.
If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.
Wenn ich nicht vor ihren Augen Wunder vollbracht hätte, die kein anderer je getan hat, wären sie ohne Schuld. Aber nun haben sie alles miterlebt, und trotzdem hassen sie mich und auch meinen Vater.
But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
Dies geschieht, damit in Erfüllung geht, was in ihrem Gesetz steht: ›Sie hassen mich ohne jeden Grund!‹
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
Wenn ich beim Vater bin, will ich euch den Helfer senden, von dem ich gesprochen habe, den Geist der Wahrheit. Er wird vom Vater kommen und bezeugen, wer ich bin.
