Sie selbst haben uns vor der ganzen Gemeinde deine Liebe bestätigt. Es ist gut und richtig, wenn du ihnen auch bei ihrem nächsten Aufenthalt alles gibst, was sie für ihre Weiterreise benötigen, so wie es ihnen als Dienern Gottes zusteht.

Doch damit nicht genug: Er ist auch nicht bereit, durchreisende Brüder aufzunehmen, und verbietet sogar anderen, das zu tun. Wenn sie die Brüder dann doch unterstützen, schließt er sie aus der Gemeinde aus.
Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
Doch du, mein lieber Freund, sollst diesem schlechten Beispiel nicht folgen, sondern dem guten. Denn nur wer das Gute tut, ist ein Kind Gottes. Wer das Böse tut, kennt Gott nicht.
Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true.
Von Demetrius aber hört man überall nur Gutes. Gottes Wahrheit wirkt sich in seinem Leben aus und ist selbst die beste Empfehlung für ihn. Auch wir können dies bestätigen. Und wie du weißt, stimmt es, was wir sagen.
